The QB is only as good as the Offensive Scheme/OC.

Tell that to Cam Newton. At Auburn he proved otherwise.

Cam never played in another scheme while in college and that offense returned to the national title game with a defensive back at QB a couple years later.

Cam's a generational talent. He would've succeeded in any college offense.

That team was loaded with talent in 2013, and luck. The Georgia and Bama wins were freak.

If the system was so great, you think they would have continued success. But they haven't.

Are you saying wins over Gus Malzahn and his system aren’t all that impressive?

Not at all, his defense Under Steele is legit.

His offensive system is overrated.

I don't disagree with that. Great Game: I like watching that game, never get tired of it. Newton, Vince Young, Riggins, Doug Williams in the Super Bowl... there are a few who on a given day can put the game on their shoulders and you get them the ball and they run over everyone. But day-in-day-out over the season the best players are the ones who make everyone around them better. On the Offense, players are only as good as the players around them - and that is facilitated by Coaching/Scheme/Player Development.

You adapt your scheme to play to the strengths of your personnel.

I would say Jameis did that as well at FSU.

But those guys are rare.

The guy calls a pretty good game with play selection. He has a run game & pass game coordinators to orchestrate the X & Os. So .... yes, he is back.

Nick Marshall, Duke Williams, Tre Mason and a bunch of WRs I cannot remember. What I do remember is that they were so good at the read-option I could not tell who had the ball. They really started the RPO revolution in the SEC. Here are a couple Plays:

This POP: Play Option Pass Tied the Game: "Evolving the Option" is a good read on this. That led to the Kick Six and the SECCG vs Mizzou where they put up 1200 yds and the NC they lost to Winston and Fisher.

Please forgive.

I was not feeling bold.

Quick, trivial posts don't merit emphasis.

Bold is for when I cannot believe people want to blame players.

Havent you heard?

Its all the players fault.

Specifically the oline.

Remember our 2016 oline that had 2 future nfl players and 3 all sec players and Ensminger couldnt move the ball against bama?

Then watch Clemson put up 550 yards with 1 nfl draft pick on the oline in 4 years.

But hey its just the players.

You forgot to blame Miles. It’s the players and they are the players Les left them with. The ZerO’s are excellent finger pointers.

O and E won ten games and the players loss three. Funny shite that before the talent was there but the coaching sucked. Suddenly, the coaching is there but the talent sucks.

We better win the west next year since Alabama and Saban are so whipped.
