I'm sure he'll give him a serious look. Of course that doesn't mean he goes that route with the hire. I'd hope Kelly has a lot more avenues of judging coaches than those of us on here. Given what Brady has accomplished, it would make sense to use whatever means Kelly has to vet him.

I can't believe there are so many people on this board that would be against having Joe Brady as the OC. Although, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.

In 2019 we had:

HC - Ed O
OC - Ensminger
PGC - Joe Brady
Players - Burrow, Jefferson, Chase, Marshall, CEH

We put together maybe the greatest offense in football history that year.

In 2018 we had:

HC - Ed O
OC - Ensminger
Players - Burrow, Jefferson, Chase, Marshall, CEH

What's the one thing missing from that list?

Let's look at 2020 as well. Ensminger was also OC. We lost lot of players, but our offense didn't look even close to the same.

Burrow certainly played a huge part in our offense, but for posters to sit here and pretend that Brady didn't play a major role in that are about as dumb as it gets.

Nothing will ever top 2019. But some more championships would be nice

So Brady only lasted two years in NFL. If he had stayed at LSU as OC you have to wonder how different things would have been.

As PGC yes. OC needs to be a good recruiter. It doesn't matter whether he wants to be
Since we have a HC who knows how and has run offenses before (at least 2 different systems) I'd be perfectly happy with Brady as OC. CBK can be the backstop.

But you hit on the reason why we might now want him- recruiting. Is he willing? Can he? We never really got enough data to fully answer those.

Now, a WR coach, QB coach, and PGC just might be the ticket. He can coach individuals up for sure. The techniques imparted, especially WRs, and the communication system (signals) he setup were second to none.

BUT... still gotta recruit. It is the lifeblood and we need all coaches all in recruiting and some that aren't supposed to be to boot.

I want a coach to stay long term

So you want an average coach. Not bad enough to get fired, but not good enough for anyone else to want.

If you want to be an elite program, you can’t expect great coordinators to stay.

Why? Brady does not want to be here as staed many times. In addition, he also does not want to recruit or coach in college. So i willmask again, why?

Maybe as receiver coach. But he does not like recruiting or want to coach in college. So why does any LSU fam on this board want him. Be a big mistake, and not a chance in hell BK hires him.

Curly Hallman left a winning team at Southern Miss because Brett Favre was playing, and winning at USM in spite of Hallman. Favre is why Curly got the Tigers job.
Brady looked good because of Burrow. Without a Joe Burrough Joe Brady may be a Curly Hallman 2.0.

Look at his coaching history, never stayed more than 2 years at ANY location.
