It’s about attitude and appreciation for LSU. Simmons dogged LSU on his way out the door, which pissed off a lot of people.
Stop lying

Ben was and is a great representative of the school and program. He will always be a True Tiger.
Indeed. Proud to call Ben a fellow LSU Alum. Once a Tiger ALWAYS Tiger!

I’m shocked you two would go along with this line of thinking.
Shocked.

Shocked.

That “big liability” just got him a 5 year $170 million contract

The whole season was a walk-through for him. Reuben Randle showed much more emotion.

Nothing brings out the pettiness and stupidity of too large a portion of our fan base (or at least this site), like a Ben Simmons thread.

and frequently disappeared when the game was on the line.
sadly this is correct. He passed up a game winning shot against Marquette and flat out hid in the second half against Oklahoma, with the nation watching.
He has tremendous skills for a guy his size, but he can’t shoot a lick, either from the field or the free throw line, and that’s a big liability.
The NBA talking heads say the same thing, and that’s because Simmons can’t shoot. He had to drive to score and that’s it. Teams can defend a one dimensional guy like that.
At LSU teams playing us so the same thing happened. At crunch time Simmons had nothing.

He played for LSU, he’s a tiger

He was never a true Tiger in the way we grew up thinking of it. He never dreamed of wearing the purple and gold. Of course how could he, and why should he? He is an Aussie. While he was here he had an excellent personal season on a dying team. So his legacy here won’t make people feel warm and fuzzy. That’s not really his fault. Had he played for Wade our memory of him would be completely different.

ETA: for those not familiar, this is how Simmons referred to our colors when tweeting after he was leaving school.

I’ll take a “Let’s Geaux!” Simmons is a Tiger in my book. Hope he slips a little of that $170 million he’s getting our way
