Not unless steroids come back in a big way AND they change the rules for bats/balls again.

Tennessee was using steroids and couldn’t get there.

No, the bats are too dead now a days.

If Tennessee hadn't shite the bed in the supers they could have come very close.

We could probably break it next year if we made some ridiculous lineup that only considered power.

OF-Crews
OF- Pearson
OF- Kling/Skenes
3B-White
1B- Jobert
SS-Young
2B-Dugas
C-Travinski
DH-Jones

That lineup obviously wouldn’t make sense defensively and excludes one of our best players in Morgan, but it would hit a shite ton of HR.

TN hit 158 in 66 games for a 2.39 average per game. They would have needed 12.5 games to reach 188. Plus the cws ball field dimensions are pretty impressive

Yea I hate when people use that argument as if those LSU teams were the only ones using those missile launchers they called bats back then

Watch some baseball bat bros videos on youtube. They compare exit velocities for the best bats of today vs bats from the 90s. Today’s top bats actually beat the 90s bats

One would think 25 year old bats have lost a little pop

Yeah I would agree. But those bats didn’t last very long back then so it would have to be a very lightly used bat to still be around today

our 3 year stretch was impressive:

1996- 136 HR
1997- 188 HR- current record
1998- 157 HR

Both of those bats are -5. You cant swing a -5 now, you have to swing a drop -3. In the Gorilla Ball Era -5 was allowed. Also the composite 2016 cf8 he's using is on the banned bats list. Video doesn't really show anything.

With today's bats, that record is as safe as Cy Young's 511 wins...

I get you’ll generate more bat speed with a -5 so for the newer -3 to get the same exit velocities says a lot about their performance
