And where will we won't improve?

This was supposed to be the year, not last year, I look for the team to be much improved on offense. The defense will be fine. Now that we have a real QB I think LSU takes the sec championship and the NC

I hope we are 'one game better" than last year.......... the last game.......

I see your Safety play dropping off, but the CB play stays around the same, maybe a slight drop off. Claiborne/Mathieu/Simon/Brooks was a much better combo than what you've got now.
Reid/Taylor is way bettr than Reid/Loston. I've been saying that instead of Bama or LSU being DBU, LSU is CB U, and Bama is Safety U. We had the better safeties last year, and this year I think we have the slight edge in starters (Lester = Reid, Sunseri slightly > Loston imo.) and in depth. (HaHa and Landon Collins as back ups.)

I have no doubt that with the addition of the second half of the offense this team will be better than last years team. It is always very difficult to go undefeated though. I would never predict and undefeated season normally. This is the first time I have ever thought it was actually "not stupid" to talk about such a thing.

It all comes down to how well Mettenberger plays

No, it all comes down to if Les Miles allows him to play to his abilities.

when i first glance at the schedule i say yes... however the team last year was fricking great
prolly the best tiger team i have witnessed, beating 8 ranked teams on the way to the national title game and beating most of them by 3 or 4 touchdowns, so it would take us having a undefeated national title team to even be in consideration
looking at the schedule we are on the road at jordan hare, ben hill griffin, kyle field, and in fayettenam... no one knows how florida, auburn, aTm, or arkansas will be this year but those 4 roads games will be a war
we get the defending national champs at home, mississippi state, ole miss, and south carolina with spurrier is always a wildcard
the out of conference is much weaker, although the washington game we will see how serious this team is as far as prepping for each game..i can see this one being closer than it needs to be
all that being said if this years team is going to be better they will have to win and win big this year simply because the level of competition was much greater last year than compared to this year just by looking at preseason rankings, and we beat many of those teams by 4 tds so this year for them to be better we need
undefeated national title
4 to 5 shut outs
and 3/4 of the games won by 4 tds
tl:dr

This. I think you guys actually have a passing attack this year, and your D is a little off. Should be number two in every defensive category, possibility of being 1st in Passing D.
Lsu will have the best defense in the nation this year. Remember how last year we were suppose to take a step back losing PP7, Kelvin, and Drake. There are 7-9 first round picks starting on this defense. This defense has been better each year under Cheif and it continues it's climb this year. It really won't be close to who owns the best defense in 12 with lsu and offense will be better. 2012 team will be special and skulldrag everyone they play, EVERYONE

Why would you be safety U? Because you had a player drafted in the first round that played the position?

LSU will have a top 10 Safety pick in Reid and Loston is a beast; he was Landon collins in hs. He has been injured. You show your ignorance suggesting reid and taylor were way better than reid and loston. Loston is excellent in run support, more physical, and can cover just as well or better than taylor. What exactly has Sunseri done compared to Loston to make him greater.
Can you actually take off the crimson glasses when doing comparisons. Reid is a top 10 overall and Lester projects 3-4 round by NFL draft scout, hardly making them equal. btw, Bama plays 3 safeties in nickel, lsu 3 cb, so Bama should have more safety depth but I'd put Ronald Martin and Micah Eugene up against any backup on your roster. In my logical opinion:
Loston = Sunseri
Reid >>> Lester
Lsu secondary >>>>>>>>> Bama
Lsu Defense >>>> Bama
In other words, GTFO with your biased bs.

Bro, you're pretty biased yourself, especially with regards to Loston. He hasn't dine shite yet. I actually don't think he'll even wind up starting. And you severely underestimate just how good Taylor was.
But we won't know how much of a droppoff(or improvement) there will be in the secondary. We won't until we see how much the new guys(and Liston and Simon) step up. I can't wait to find out.
