He speaks the truth. I've been married almost 20 years. Weddings during football season are not a plot to take away your manhood. They are a sign of non-football fan friends.
That being said, some of the other posters are correct in pointing out that the prominence of LSU football must be on the table before getting married.
I married an LSU fan, so no problem in this house. :)

This is definately a test! Give in now and you will be pussywhipped your whole marriage. She will get over it. If she doesn't then sorry she wasn't the one.

My wife doesn’t understand why I’m not selling my LSU/Alabama tickets and going with her to her best friend’s wedding. She will not speak to me because of this. We have been married 6 months. What do I do? Not going to the game is not an option.
The simple fact she pulled a stunt like this means you never should have married her.

I think you are the one who doesnt get it. If she is the matron of honor which I believe you said then this isnt just "attending" a wedding. This isnt "establishing dominance". This is one of those things that as a husband you are expected to attend. In her mind and everyone elses mind at that wedding you are choosing a football game not over some random persons wedding but over your wife. Due to the nature of my job and its requirements I have missed far too many events like this so I have perspective. Its a game. One night. No matter what happens win or lose it all resets Jan 10th of 2013. You cant reset your marriage. Choose wisely.

Have fun not having sex for a year

years ago a family member of mine scheduled his wedding on a home game night. I sent a gift. Of course, I wasa bastard for a few weeks....but I set the precedent. Nobody expects ANYTHING outta me now when LSU is playing. Worthwhile investment if you ask me

Ditto for me, and that's why I stand by what I said, and why these events are all the more precious to me. She is making a power play, make no mistake about it. The choice is his, but she is setting the bar on what he will cave to.

How well do you know the groom? Because you should punch him if you end up going. He must be spineless or stupid to not let the bride know Nov. 3rd might be a problem for more than a few guests.
Probably a ULL fan.

Sell you tickets and spend it all on shite you want.
Tell her that her portion is you missing the game.

I had the same problem for the Oregon game. She went to the wedding, I went to the game with her brother. She wasn't happy, but she eventually got over it.

ok listen up,she is already pissed..so tell her you plan on selling the ticket and attending the wedding with her.she will be very happy and do anything you want...so take advantage and get in as much filthy sex as possible,i mean frick her good....then at some time of your choosing break the news that she is out of her mind and that under no circumstance you will miss the game.this will test your marriage and you will know if it was meant to be.

Dude you go the wedding.Your wife should be more important to you than football. It will definetly suck, but will be worth it in the long run. I assure you that most of these guys giving you advice don't have wives or girlfriends.

Set your boundaries early....or suffer for it for years to come. And yes - most women don't get the Religion of SEC football. I live on the Georgia Coast now and my wife just told me a girl's getting married this Saturday at 3:30. Georgia - Florida is this Sat at 3:30. Go figure.

You are an idiot for not anticipating this and putting it in a pre-nup.

Neither does mine!

I'm married and I told her the memories of the LSU-Oregon game will last longer than their marriage. I don't recommend using that line, but eventually she caved.
