Why would Emery come back to LSU?

Jackson is going to be the feature back.
Williams will be the third-down back.
Durham will be the change of pace back.
Holly is still a big question at this point.
Really does not seem to be a place for Emery unless you start to think about a future in coaching. Way I look at it is that Emery will provide mentoring to the young backs and move into a GA role starting next season.
I think these discussions have already taken place. If my hunches are correct, congrats and good luck to the young man!
ETA... It's like yall don't even read the post before hitting the red arrow.

We basically have 3 scholarship RBs without Holly. Just last year, Emery got hurt, Williams was banged up and Diggs was hurt. We don’t have another walk-on RB waiting in the wings who is a stud.
If Emery is healthy, he can be a huge part of the offense.
Why would you complain about that?

Maybe, but I think you are making several assumptions.

Because he wants to?

The fact that he stayed will help the RB room and give us 4 "for sure" RBs with Holly being an outlier. He can be a leader too by adding a veteran presence to the room. He technically has the talent to be the best RB in the room but things haven't gone his way after that academic issue he had.

We don’t know any of this.

Your question is stupid.
Until Emery says why, then nobody here will be able to give you an answer to the question.
Besides, why do you care? Are you upset he's coming back? Is it not beneficial to LSU that he's coming back?
Maybe, instead of some of y'all having to question EVERYTHING...just accept the things you have no control over and try to be happy for these guys that are living out your dreams.

Because we’re extremely thin in the RB room and he wants to play another year. I’m not sure why you dont think he’d have a spot.

Did you even read my post?
Based on the depth chart, it is very reasonable to see that carries will be very limited for him this season. As such, I brought up the very positive theory of him going into a future in coaching. People crapping on that random theory in my head is the sad part.

He’s had years of learning routes, pass protection, etc
If he’s healthy he’ll be an asset over the younger guys

This is funny, because:

You has the sads this AM Rougie because people are disagreeing with you?

I has the sads because I asked the question and provided a reasonable thought process. What's wrong with a future in coaching and learning under some top tier mentors?
I think that people expecting Emery to get significant touches this season are going to be very disappointed. I just think Emery's value is more than as an insurance policy.

Williams will be the third-down back.
Hell, the best plays of Emery’s career have come with him catching the ball out of the backfield. And he can pass block. I’ve seen him stone linebackers in the hole

Healthcare? Coming off a serious knee injury so could that be a factor?
Otherwise you would think he’d drop a level for an opportunity to start and potentially post big stats.
Or maybe some of his credits wouldn’t transfer, not sure how that works if you’re going to grad school.
