So the general consensus is that what we did offensively this year is good and we should continue doing the same thing.

Great.

This board is full of retards. Now people are saying fournette's record breaking season is not a credit to the coaches but just talent alone. Ok

running him into 8 and 9 man fronts over and over is dumb.

doing it vs saban every yr when you lose 75% of the time shows me he isnt very smart.

Yards per play
Yards per play
Yards per play

Blah, blah, blah

We have elite running backs, elite receivers, and a solid pass catching tight end, yet we try to shorten every game to let lesser talented teams have a chance to win in the 4th quarter.

We try to shorten the game because our defense was crap this year. If the other team is on the bench, they can't score. LSU was 9-0 this year when the defense allowed fewer than 30 points and 0-3 when they allowed 30 or more, FYI.

What? The only thing LSU could do a bit more is include Fournette in the passing game, and I think we started to do that as the season went on. Other than that, Fournette is getting about as many touches as he can without jeopardizing his health in the long term. LSU has great depth, and its exactly what separates them from teams like Stanford. Not that LSU doesn't need Fournette, but LSU top to bottom is far more talented than Stanford, and Stanford really really needs McCaffrey more than LSU needs Fournette, but thats just because LSU is better in other areas.

Yards per play is a pure stat that show how successful an offense is wheb the ball is snapped. It's not like total offense which is skewed by the amount of plays ran.

If you knew football you'd know this

We try to shorten the game to keep our defense off the field. Our scheme helps our defense tremendously. Even when our offense is atrocious ,like in 2014, our time of possession kept our defense off the field. If you knew football you'd know this.

Yes.

How many time did we throw to LF out of the backfield this year?

3 or 4 total?

Harris missed him 3-4 times a game.

I believe Christian's ypc against Pac 12 opponents was less than 4.0, somewhere around 3.6. How was LF's, even with that shite November stretch? CM feasted on Stanford's non conference opponents, with Northwestern as the exception.

So LF wouldnt start on any other teams?

Wouldnt put up this many yards?

BS

Had he played for Saban, he would have over 2,500 yards.

His talent is freakish, This coaching staff cant teach what he does.

Most teams know by formation and player grouping what is coming b4 we run it.

Problem is many dont have the talent to stop it.

Coaching Sucks, he does what he does with little help.

Considering he had 19 receptions for 253 yards...then I'd say we threw to him a bit more than 3 or 4 times, besides, a throw in LSU's case takes far longer and is completely unnecessary relative to handing it off. Maybe you could even say the toss dive in LSU's offense equates to the short pass out of the backfield in the Stanford offense.

I would prefer LSU involve Fournette more in screens. I think you'll see that going forward not only because Harris will improve, but also because the coaches are more aware of Fournette's ability during gameplay instead of practice.

There are a lot of things you can bitch about when it comes to our offense. A lot. But the way we used LF isn't 1 of those things.

LF isn't a 200lbs all purpose back like McCaffrey is. He's a 6'1 230lbs of pure grown man. Using him the same way that Stanford uses McCaffrey wouldn't be using him in the best possible way. Sure, I would like for LF to catch a few more balls. But it's not like I want him lining up at WR or in the slot half the game like McCaffrey does.
