If you watch this offense this season you see Nick all over it. He like Miles believes in power football 101 and Nick has his offense built around his D. I think I would do the same thing and like Les in 2011 it is a wonderful thing until it is not. Nick ball ran into Les ball in 2011 and we ended up with 9 to 6. Nick being a better winning football coach than Les - made the changes needed to win the 2nd match-up - Les was a complete repeat of the first game.

We will win the game because of the Aranda D and the unknown for Nick of what Canada is going to bring plus our newfound FG kicker.

No one will pick LSU to beat Bama and we will be around 19 pt dogs at game time. In football you have to play the game and I am picking a 0-0 first quarter and a 3-0 first half. I am picking LSU to win the game 13-10 but truth is either team could have the 13. I am hoping that team will be LSU.

Bet LSU moneyline (if it's even offered) and post a screenshot

I loved the gameplan with guice and Williams both in the game at the same time.

you know, I noticed watching some highlights that the pass rush ebbed in the second half after all those passes to Williams.

a lot of our running game will need to be the short passing game.

We won't win. Ole Miss was gashing us up the middle. Bama will take our lunch money on the ground. If you can run the ball, you win the game. They'll be able to run, we wont.

To be fair...Ole Miss was NOT going to beat LSU on the ground and LSU was playing that way. Yes, some fits were missed and some tackles, too. But, the entire defense was designed to stop that passing attack.

Perhaps. But, the game plan will be MUCH more run stop focused. I'm not predicting an LSU win. But, the run defense will be very different.

Do you really believe that Canada will out scheme Nick with our OL and QB? Come on man.

Andy Reid dominated the NFC for years by transferring part of his running game to a short passing game. Could be replicated in a very beneficial way for us against Bama. Bama does not have the pass rushers they had last year, they are going to have to bring 5-6 men more often which will really open up those dump off passes for serious yards.

Nice try and I wish I could buy in like I do every time, but ain’t gonna happen this year. We are not stout enough upfront and only have 2 out of 4 linebackers that are what we need. Secondary is where we want it, but that’s not enough. On offense, I like where we are headed but we are not good enough at qb to beat Bama. Lots of 3rd and 5 or more is not going to play well. 34-13 Tide

Not to mention Ole Miss WR's dropped 2 EASY TD passes that could have made that game much closer than the final 16 point margin. Bama beat that same team by 60. Just think about that for a second. Let it sink in. 60

OK, if I were betting hard cash I would bet Bama all day, but I'm getting pretty sick of all of you that think we might as well lay down on this game. I think we can stop/really slow the run and force them to throw. Their QB as a passer is average at best, and they have one good receiver. Our real problem is going to be our OL and their pass rush. We're going to have to be able to throw the ball. Do I like our chances? No. Is out of the question? Of course not! At what point in playing Alabama have we not only lost but got castrated as fans?

I agree that it will be a low scoring game on both sides. If we pull off the upset, I think it will be by 3. 10-7 or 13-10 would be my guess at the final score. If I bet money, it would be on bama, if I bet my heart...it bleeds purple and gold.

Love the positive attitude but just don't see us scoring 10 points. I was at the game in the 80's upset but this Bama team is really good. Not saying the upset can't happen but the percentage is low. Something like 31-10

Nick is just a football coach and nothing more. He has made massive mistakes at LSU and Bama but with the rings he has he tends to stay on the winning side of things. In Nick world it is his D and power physical players. He wins the line and that is just about it. He loads the team with 4 star and 5 star players and molds them to do just what he wants each play. He teaches one play at a time , win the next play period and after all the years that is just what they do. His winning is based on the front 7 and power running OL line play. Power backs and QB's that do what they are told.

If you have a 100% understanding that the number 1 thing that Nick believes on every play is that Bama will stop the run and run the football.

To beat Bama you can't go past this understanding. You can't run the ball 101 against Bama at anytime period. If you can't stop the big truck running game you can't beat Bama.

First question is - can LSU stop the basic running game of Bama ? I think we can and I also think we have one of the best MLBers in the history of LSU right now - #40. I also think we have outside of Nick the best college football defensive mind in the game in Aranda. Added to this with pressure on a QB that is more of a running back than pure QB you have what I hope to be more than one turn-over coming. We all know what our DB's have been doing and we will see much more of the man on man in this game.

In fairness, it's been a while since we've completed a pass to a WR. Hopefully Bama will be content to play straight man and bring the safeties in.

If that happens, Chark, Sullivan and Davis will have to win those 1-on-1 battles on deep posts and vertical routes. If nothing else, lob it to Sullivan and let him use his size to his advantage if he's in single coverage. Chark likely wins with speed, but the other two will have to bring in some jump balls to open up the running game.

If the OL can protect Etling long enough for a deep route to develop, we might just have a puncher's chance.

Connect on a few deep throws and it opens up everything else.

pre-game you have been programed to see Bama as a unbeatable force - LSU has no chance

like you posted we can't set-up our pocket and protect Danny who can't complete a pass to a Wide-out

I think the staff will design an attack built around what they think we can do against the Bama D !

I personally thought we held back in the OM game, that we cold have done more but it was intentional to do what we did, enough to win. I think O is saving it all for bama

So you are saying Etling will start looking for and hitting the check down? Based on what? He hasn’t shown he will or is even capable.....ever
