Why wasn't Louisville in the tournament this year with their superior coaching candidate?

I didn't follow the ACC season so I honestly don't know. But the conference wasn't highly regarded and didn't get a national seed (their 2 Super berths came against C-USA teams), and they weren't even on the bubble. Pitt was more likely to get in than them. So why were they so bad in a bad year overall for the conference?

edit: My mistake forgetting Notre Dame

ACC has 3 teams in the supers. second only to SEC. The lack of OOC games made it hard to evaluate teams. Conference ate itself

This fanbase picks which successes and failures they want to ignore.

You want the guy who went 0-2 and lost 1-19 at home?

Or the one who leads the team known for the OMAHA acronym?

Really off year for them, but they've been to Omaha 4 of the last 7 seasons (prior to 2020)

This season is a head scratcher.

At least he won't need much help with the new hand gesture.

I honestly don't care but I want the best candidate. And everybody was going to crucify Paul if he didn't make the tournament and you want to replace him with a guy that didn't make the tournament in a weaker conference.

But hey, he's the one candidate who ranted about masks, amirite?

He's been to Omaha 5 times since 2007. Kind of where we are coming from when favoring him.

Do you get embarrassed and tell people your purple hair is because you're an LSU fan?

In McDonnell’s first 14 seasons as head coach, Louisville ranked No. 1 nationally in wins with 618, including a school-record 53 wins during the record-setting 2017 season.

That’s pretty good, huh?
