That was sickening to watch time and time again.
Reminded me of the Bradley Dale Peveto/ Mallory days.

Middle of the field was wide open, FSU had opportunities all night long.

Linebacker play was pathetic.

Hell, the damn CB's were lining up 5 years past the first down marker all game. Can't cover much with that shite either.

Yep. As was underneath Safety play, especially early on.

Thomas Dunson, the drop linebacker was a bit slow to the coverage, FWIW it takes 4 years to install Tepper's defense

(if you understand this you are over 45 years old, if your too young, rejoice you know nothing about this).

Don't go adding years to my life just because Tepper took years off it.

On the 3rd down to the TE across the middle it was pretty simple pitch and catch because it'd be 3rd and 8 and we'd drop back 15.

When has LSU EVER covered a TE or RB out of backfield. Does not matter the coach or Coordinator. It’s not going to happen

Poster GumboPot posted this in another thread so not my observation, but makes a ton of sense:

quote:

Matt House like the Saints on 3rd and long situations were playing the sticks. Most ALL NFL defenses play this on 3rd and long situations. It forces the WRs to check into the sort route. The key on defense is to make the tackle. The Saints the last 3 or 4 years have been very good at this technique. Matt House is trying to do the same thing with the LSU defense. It's a very good approach if you can execute because it prevents you from getting beat deep. The problem is in order to perfect this defense you have to watch a lot of film on your opponent and recognize their tendencies on 3rd and long and meet them at the spot for the tackle or breakup. LSU obviously has not practiced this enough. It takes a lot of practice and most CFB teams just don't have that much time during the week. IMO Matt House should be doing more bump and run coverage and force the QB to make great throws. You will get burned in the NFL with these kinds of defenses because the QBs are good and can make the throws. Not so much in CFB. CFB QBs are just not that good.

Missed tackles on QB, busted LB and Safety coverages.
