Lee has a better understanding of the system.

Obvious by this statement you DIDN'T watch at all

Wow, never even seen him practice but you are certain Mett is the best? This is an incredibly sad and unfortunate situation for all involved and I wish them all the best but Jefferson showed an incredible lack of discipline and maturity for allowing himself to be involved in a bar fight. (side note: if you follow curfew and dont go to bars, your chances of being involved in a bar fight go WAY down). If LSU can put all this turmoil aside and come together, they will be fine. Lee deserves all our support, he obviously is our best chance at QB. With our defense, other teams will find scoring very difficult. All Lee has to do is manage the offense and let the playmakers do their job and the Tigers will be OK.

Obviously, YOU haven't seen Lee play lately.

He has Div. 1 on field experience, SEC experience...that's why he's the starter.

I have confidence in Lee. Even if he throws a pick, I have confidence in our defense to help win the game.

I think if Lee struggles, Mett may see some playing time.

Mett will get a chance this year, either through substitution (blowout or struggling Lee) or injury, to show us what he's got.

I hope he can live up to the hype. If he does shine we can have a great season.

I really hope that Lee lights it up but I'm glad the staff had the foresight to sign Mettenberger when they had the chance.

Lee has to be the starter. If he struggles, you go to Mett. If Miles did it the other way around and Mett struggled, people would be calling for his head.

Mettenburger will get his shot on the field.

If Lee is throwing ducks while Mettenburger lights up the scoreboard, Lee will lose his job.

It's not like Mettenburger has been super-glued to the bench. Les loves his two quarterback system.

I don't like that you guys are primed and ready to get rid of Lee the first mistake he makes. He has to feel like the coaches and fans have full confidence in him. Telling him "IF YOU THROW A PICK 6 YOU'RE GETTING YANKED" he'll play scared. Let the guy play football, ffs.

This. During his freshman season it seems like he played worse whenever there was fear of him getting yanked for JJ. Texan Pete is full of shite. I think he'll play better without JJ being over his shoulder. Let him sling the ball around!

Sorry but a pick6 is a major frick up from a QB. He has thrown far too many already. I dont mind him making a mistake but one more pick6 is too many. Sorry, just my opinion.

I agree. If the coaches are pulling Lee for a single pick 6 then may as well pull the players that miss the tackles to allow the pick 6.

I don't believe that, it's just stupid to pull a player for one mistake. Let the kid play.

this thread is dumb. Not only should he start over Mett....he arguably should've started over JJ

I think he may just be prone to doing it though. I support him starting Lee and have no problem if he struggles a little. That being said, a pick6 at this point would be enough.

Look Mett. is almost certain to be the starting QB next season if he stays out of trouble. Therefore Mett is going to see significant playing time regardless of how Lee plays. Lee can look like Brees and Mett will still see the field.

Mett is not head and shoulders above JL. In time, I hope he is. So as the coach who wants to win, I'd start the senior and play the RS sophomore. If JL is as horrible as some say, then no pressure on Mett when senior pulled. Players like Miles' loyalty and team will rally around JL or Mett, if and when he plays.
