I don't understand all the support for Lee. He has two successful drives in a full season and all of a sudden he's Tommy friggin' Hodson.

Lee supporters forget all the three and outs he had last year. At least Jefferson would pick up a couple of first downs, which, even though we didn't put points on the board, helped us in the battle of field position.

There were 11 offensive possesions in last year's Florida game. 6 with Jefferson, 5 with Lee. Here's how those drives ended.

Jefferson: FG, Int, Punt, FG, Punt, Punt

Lee: TD, TD, TD, Punt, TD

And, yes, I realize Jefferson scored 2 of those TD's but that was after Lee got the offense inside the 10.

Yeah why would we want to play a guy when all he has done lately is lead 4th quarter comebacks at Florida and Tennessee

The passing stats from the Tennessee game are pretty telling as well.

I think both Lee & Mett will get plenty of chances this season. If Lee plays very well, which many of us seem to doubt, Mett will still get snaps since he will be the most experienced QB in 2012. If Lee struggles, it is just a matter of time before Mett gets his chance. Everyone needs to remember it's a long season-- both of them will be needed. I just hope they both stay healthy, so Rivers & Randall can both be redshirted.

JJ and Lee have their rep (the one you are assuming makes mett better) because they were forced to play too early. Let mett get his reps in when needed. Lee's got this.

Who cares if mett isn't "mentally ready" Jefferson was never mentally ready in any faze of life. Let him play and his ability will take over. He has already played better than both in the spring game and he was here for a few months.

NO! Do not put Lee in! He has proven over the past 4 years what he is capable of and it's not much. Why he didn't transfer a couple of years ago to a school like LA Tech or Tulane is beyond me. It's time to play for the future. Lee is a last resort QB period! He can't manage the game like a championship level QB. He has shown on multiple opportunities that he cracks under pressure and it has cost the team tremendously. Start Mettinberger and give him every opportunity and benefit of the doubt that Lee has had. The end result will be much better when you look back. If Mettinberger performs like Lee has, then go to Rivers. If Rivers can't do it, then go with Randall, then Foster, and lastly Lee. One would hope that we don't EVER get that far down the list though.

Rivers?

WTF?

Lee may explode with this opportunity. He is a gunslinger and gets the ball downfield. If we have any running attack and decent blocking (with this supposedly greatest ever LSU OL), Lee will do very well.

Yeah. Rivers or anyone else yet to prove themselves because Lee has proven himself and if he were a championship level QB he would have solidified himself a long time ago and this most recent dumbass decision Jordan Jefferson made would not even have made the back page of the Town Talk in Alexandria and we would be writing about how we are going to cake walk to another BCS instead of debating over this bullshite. Bet the future!

Lee got thrown to the wolves as a freshman and stayed at it, worked his arse off and without Lee last year, we are not a double digit win team. Lee has never had an attitude or gone to the bench and pouted when he f--ked up.

Things happen for a reason. Support Lee and hope Mett also gets some playing time for experience. However, we do not need a continuing QB controversy

Let's see what happens. It is what it is.

Let me see if I understand. We start the season as a top 5 team in the polls. But you say screw that, we need to play for the future? The future is this season! We were voted a top 5 team with a big question mark about who our qb would be. Now you want to plug in players with little or no college game experience? At least Lee has SEC experience.
Screw your 'future"

Very true. He has been a good kid and handled his short comings with good character and class. I will support whoever lines up under center, there have been a lot of freshmen "thrown to the wolves" in years past all of which seized the opportunity. Freshmen like Herb Tyler for one. "Thrown to the wolves" his first year. Took the opp and cemented his name in the 1st QB spot for the next 4 years leaving absolutely no question who the best QB at the time was. Lee didn't do that. Maybe he's a VERY slow starter and the 5th year is the one by golly.
