I'll give you that. But we do know that Lee is a below average QB that fails in just about every opportunity he has been given. I don't care how long he's been at LSU, he doesn't deserve to be a starter. Give Mettenberger the same opportunity Lee was given his freshman year

When did he fail?
Why doesnt he deserve it?

I want you to help us all understand your line of thinking here.

Ive been accused by several here for having an agenda.. You take this to another level.

Using samples to dissect these facts; you are piss poor not only at judging our quarterback situation but also know very little about pleasing your sexual partners. Having determined these facts; I say you are totally W R O N G about the New Jarrett Lee. End of story.

Miles has not exactly shown the greatest ability to recruit competent QBs however, we have to go with the coaches know more and Lee has "experience" in the system.

Have no idea. However, we can wait another 3+ years to talk about that one.

Bottom line is the Miles has not recruited one QB in his tenure that has been close to outstanding on the field. The 2 QBs that were successful, Jemarcus and Flynn, were neither recruited nor received their teaching foundation from Miles of this chosen coaches. Ironic considered Miles is supposed to be an "offense oriented" coach.

Maybe Lee breaks that cycle this year? Or Mett? Or Rivers in 3 years?

RP was an idiot, but he was pretty damn good when he played.

I think Miles has recruited pretty decent QB's. Due to many factors they just haven't developed at LSU as they should have.

RP, Lee, JJ, Z. Lee, Mettenberger were all fairly highly regarded before coming to campus.

How many practices have you been too? And you know that Mettenberger is better than Lee because you have seen him practice against D-1 talent on defense? Must be what it is. Because obviously Miles doesn't want to win.

Don't think the staff killed any brain cells making this decision. Let's see, we are playing the #3 team in the country.

My choices at QB are;
A: Fifth year Sr responsible for multiple SEC wins
B: JC QB who hasn't played a D-1 down.
Don't think it came up for a vote.

Mett will see the field against NW. The job is his NEXT year with Rivers in waiting to follow. Good recruiting.
JL finally gets his chance. He doesn't need a Heisman season. Mike Leach comment on sat radio, LSU had the 11th ranked offense in the SEC. Hell, if they were simply 8th, they win it all!

Does JL have the talent to move this offense up 3 slots? I think so!

And turn this year into 2008 2.0 and Mett into Lee 2.0?

That's your problem. You give him too much credit by assuming he thinks.

Here are last seasons stats for JL.

Jarrett Lee 12-0 119.9 (Rating) Cmp-Att-Int:54-89-1 Pct:60.7 Yards:573 TD:2 Long:47

Not bad considering he was not given much a chance by Les. I know that he had his problems his Freshman year..but last year he threw 1 pick in 89 attempts...Jefferson threw 10 in 209 attempts,a rate 4 times as high. If we just commit a little bit to the run, and have a reasonable down-field threat, Lee will do fine.
Mett will hopefully prove to be a great quarterback; better than Jefferson or Lee, but Miles did not give him a chance this year and he has not had enough work with the first team. Starting Lee makes the most sense.

Lee was the #2, so it's his slot to lose. Be assured if he is screwing up that bad, we will be seeing Mett.

competent on the field during the last 3 years???

Obviously, the future is unknown.

He misjudged RP's character, lost Darron Thomas, and failed on JJ and Jlee being able to perform during their 1st 3 years of opportunities.

IMHO, I think Lee does well this year. Maybe it is time for us to go back to the Pro Style offense that worked with Jemarcus and Flynn instead of the concoction with short side options, etc. Line up and ram the ball down their throat and beat them downfield on the pass.
