That was Coach Miles's decision. Mike Detillier has said that it was a fatally erroneous coaching decision, but, what does he know?

Bama says Hello
Eta: But I agree with you for the most part. It's just getting harder and harder to defend Miles when he keeps making boneheaded decisions like benching Hill and the timeout/clock management issues.
I think Miles is overall a great coach. He's just not very smart. But being smart is not a prerequisite for being a good football coach IMO. I think there are plenty of good football coaches at all levels that aren't "smart". And there are a lot of "smart" people that don't know dick about football. And clock management is definitely one of Miles' weakest areas.

Here is the box score:
LSU Rushing
CAR YDS AVG
J. Hill 16 64 4.0
K. Hilliard 11 58 5.3
T. Magee 3 17 5.7
A. Blue 1 3 3.0 0 A. Jennings 1 2 2.0
Z. Mettenberger 3 -30 -10.0 Team 35 114 3.3
Where is "most of the game'? Only one with significant carries was Hilliard who had a greta game and more ypc than Hill

This is going to be the longest and darkest month in the Tiger Rant's history.
Oct 19th- Loss to a not great Ole Miss. Everyone loses their minds.
Oct 26th- Win over Furman, we will find something to bitch about here but it's all gearing up for Bama.
Nov 2nd - No game for LSU or Bama, we all fight over how bad Bama is going to skull rape LSU.
Nov 9th - Bama game. LSU is a double digit dog. People will lose their shite again on here, win or lose.
Nov 16 - No game. This place might be a ghost town due to all the banning.
holy shite you are going to be correct

If what you say is true about the team not taking Ole Miss seriously, then the team needs to realize something: We were not playing Ole Miss, we were playing for the SEC and National Championships! So, if what you said is true, my message to the players is, GET THE SAME DESIRE FOR CHAMPIONSHIPS AS THE FANS!!!!!!!

But the main one is that so many posters want the most successful head coach in LSU football history fired. They want the DC that has been named national coach of the year fired and they seem to think that anyone not of the same opinion is an outright "Miles apologist".
Whereas other posters on the board take the position that if you dare criticize or question Miles then you are not really an LSU fan and are in fact a "nega-tiger". This cuts both ways.

Here is the reason why this place comes unhinged after a loss, especially a really bad one like this weekend.
We all consider LSU an elite team/program. We also have an elite team in our division. This elite team has an ex coach of ours. When we drop one, most look over to the other team to compare and see what they are doing. When that team is kicking arse and rolling, the fans want to know, "why the frick aren't we rolling too."
Miles' teams are always gonna be compared Saban's teams. Is it fair? No, Saban will go down as one of the greatest of all time.
Is it human nature to compare? Yes. Which is why it will always be like this till either retires.

LSU on the other hand doesn't take Ole Miss as seriously ... and when things don't really go LSU's way.... we lose to Ole Miss.

These are facts
Here is another fact. When LSU doesn't take any opponent seriously and loses a game they could have easily won it pisses off anyone who remotely gives a crap.

Sorry, but I wanted LSU to win every game long before I ever heard of nicky, Miles, or Tigerderoppings!

100% agree with you, as have I. But the program is in a different place than it was 10, 20 years ago.
Expectations are extremely high, as they should be.

Yeah, um, identifying obvious coaching errors and deficiencies is not tantamount to calling for someone to be "fired." The defense has been suspect since Bama 2012. Chavis deserves to be criticized. The team was flat and unfocused on Saturday night. Ensuring that doesn't happen falls within Miles' bailiwick. He admitted as much. And the botched timeout was inexcusably stupid. Sorry.
