I keep hearing Moscona and other sports media personalities pin the OL issues on CEO since he was the Recruiting Coordinator while he was an assistant coach. Wasn't Frank Wilson the RC from 2010-2015? CEO took over when Wilson left for UTSA in early 2016, but that is only one recruiting class worth of OL that fall on CEO's shoulders. Maybe, just maybe, the Golden Boy Wilson, Grimes, and Les Miles should have the vast majority of our current OL issues since they couldn't recruit the elite talent nor develop 3-4 stars into competent SEC linemen. Also, the attrition of OL players probably can be placed on the fact there was a coaching change and attrition happens during a regime change. Grimes sucks, Wilson/Miles screwed the pooch, and unfortunately Coach O is left cleaning up the mess...

Did Frank Wilson run off all the depth during the offseason or was that O?

They are not his fault at all. He was recruiting coordinator for 9 months. Miles oversaw recruiting of OL plain and simple. You can blame him if you want for the players leaving, but one should assume they didn't fit Canada's scheme and decided to leave. To me it's more of ripping off the scab had to happen.

No Frank Wilson was the guy who had us stacked at running back and getting head coaching offers.. not the perineal dline coach

I haven't seen anyone put it entirely on O and I get some of what you're saying. but you can't say Grimes sucks and O has to clean up the mess when O had the chance to get rid of Grimes in the offseason.

Did Frank Wilson fail to recruit/sign Cam Robinson and Greg Robinson or was that O? The attrition of OL that left once O became head coach probably has more to do with scheme change and Wilson/Cameron/Miles being gone compared to O being an a$$ to those players.

Most can see that it's not O's fault for the OL being in the shape it's in. But people are in a tizzy over the sucking that we're in. The negatigers are just blaming the head men (Alleva, too, and that's actually legit), and those who wanted some other coach are suddenly validated.

Again, this wasn't supposed to be a rebuild. Well, guess what? Sometimes shite happens, and it's not even anybody's fault sometimes. It's now a rebuild, and some people are just gonna kick and scream for a couple years; if O doesn't pan out, that doesn't mean the moaners and groaners were right in this case.

The problems on the OL right now aren't really from recruiting. It's from retaining Grimes and multiple linemen leaving under O's watch

The failure to land Cam Robinson was directly on Coach Stud and Miles.

I agree that Grimes should have been let go once O became head coach, but I can see the likelihood of CEO wanting to keep some type of relationships with current recruits with Grimes and then transition to his choice once the 17 season ended.

Well the moaners and groaners will grow after each loss and shitty performance. Hopefully puts enough pressure so 0 is gone sooner rather than later

Here are our last 4 recruiting classes:

2014:

Brumfield 4*
Clapp 4*

2015:

Teuhema 5* (left team in summer)
Valentine-Okeke 4* (transferred)
Weathersby 4*
Magee 3*
Brown 3*

2016:

Campbell 4*
Allen 4* (transferred summer 2017)
Savage 3*
Cushenberry 3*

2017:

Deculus 4*
Ingram 4*
Charles 4*
Stewart 3*

So, it looks to me like we brought in at least 2 4* OL recruits every class.

this would make more sense if the attrition happened in the spring, but it didnt.

Beside La'el Collins, Vadal Alexander, and Ethan Pocic, please name me the elite OL recruits LM/FW landed between the classes of 2011-2015?? Teuhema and Weathersby were in the 2015 class, but unfortunately Teuhema didn't end up helping this year. Brumfield is good, but so far he's only given us a 4 game sample size to judge from. Our starting LT was a 3-star Center coming out of high school...

" suddenly validated"

The only thing validated, to this point in time, is those who asked the very simple question of, what in the hell has Coach O done to this point in his career to be deserving of the LSU football coach title??

Recruiting coordinator is a title to justify paying a coach more money. It's no different than passing game coordinator or associate head coach. Moscona knows this, but he also knows that doesn't get his show ratings.
