Kept Paul Mainieri when Texas was flirting with him
Found Will Wade
Upgraded facilities
Saved us from hiring weirdo Tom Herman and locked us in with Ed Orgeron
Just weird the hate he gets after the great things he’s done.

Why do I care what happened at Duke? I’m an LSU fan. He’s been the best AD we’ve ever had. Way better than Skip appointing Smoke as AD, chasing off Saban...

He's a POS who gave his Duke Lacrosse coach an ultimatum to either be fired or resign.. over false allegations. He caved to public pressure.
He then got his feelings hurt by a coach (Herman) simply playing the game/market and because of it.. he acted on emotion rather than truly having LSU's best interest in mind with a thorough coaching search.
Those are my two biggest gripes.
F King is worse for all he has done though, but still doesn't excuse the two things Alleva could have controlled.

So playing a quickly scheduled game against Florida in tiger stadium is worth two years in a row in Gainesville for a normally scheduled game?

The problem is, it wasn’t a home game.
Florida pussed out, but announcing a venue change 4 days before a “home” game isn’t exactly ideal for players or fans.

Alleva hired a career defensive line coach that had completely fell on his face in his only real head coaching opportunity. That ended any support he would have ever garnered with the fan base. If he makes a decent hire in that situation he would be seen in a more positive light.

Yes, it was a horrible idea.
I never liked the idea of quickly gaining a home game in an INTERIM HC-ing season.. at the expense of 2 STRAIGHT road losses.
That should have been a neutral game or postponed. Period.
You don't mortage the future scheduling, but especially in a season where LSU wasn't going to compete for a championship.
That was so absurd to give up. People are like well you gained a home game that season.. Yeah on a shortened notice and in a season we didn't need to gain. Then we lose the game any ways. It hurt more going forward. We would have been better off not playing that game at all that season.
Also, didn't someone else have more to do with "finding" Will Wade, than Alleva. I still think he deserves credit for his hires nonetheless though.
