Its been over 10 years since LSU has fielded a competent offense(outside of the one year in 2013 with an NFL QB and 2 NFL All-Pro receivers).

And you think LSU fans arent justified in their complaints? I dont see anybody complaining about the recruiting(except CEO and people making excuses for him), special teams or defense(except people who are trying to divert attention away from the pathetic offense to take heat off of CEO and SE).

Tell me if you think 10 years of this justifies some complaining -

LSU recruiting class average ranking 2008-2018 - 12, 2, 8, 7, 16, 6, 2, 7, 4, 8, 15
Average - #8
LSU total offense ranking 2008-2018 - 51, 102, 81, 57, 77, 33, 75, 58, 71, 48, 101
Average - 69
LSU total passing yards 2008-2018 - 67, 92, 102, 100, 90, 43, 109, 108, 106, 82(Canada, best since 2008 sans NFLSU offense of 2013), 101
Average - 91

LSU recruiting class average ranking 2004-2007 - 3, 18, 8, 5
Average - #9
LSU total offense ranking 2004-2007 - Jimbo Fisher(39, 34, 14), 9
Average - 24
LSU total passing yards 2004-2007 - 62, 35, 20, 42
Average - 40

So under Less Smiles(without Fisher) and under Captain Orgeron, LSU got top 10 talent and produced bottom half results.

COMPLAINTS:
NOT JUSTIFIED - [JUSTIFIED]

100% this is the problem people are having.

To succeed in the SEC, a team needs to be able to run, pass and play defense.

LSU has been 2/3 for 9 years.

Nine years of substandard offensive production that has cost LSU a number of games, shots at championships and 8 straight losses to Alabama... but stop complaining, because 'good' is good enough?

It makes no sense to me.

None of the complaining about the offense in 2018 makes any sense. We had 11 O lineman when O started. Most teams have 16 or 17. We had more kickers on scholarship than linebackers. We had a four man D line rotation. What O has done in two years is outstanding.

Because it's the players!!! It's not the ultra conservative scheme that we've been running the past 10 years. Clearly the average recruiting ranks are a lie!!!!

As opposed to the defensive line coach and tight-ends coach fixing the offense?

Why are you holding years that coach O wasn't head coach against him? He had no control then.

You also have to take into consideration that a lot of these first rounders have been from a select group of positions. These are usually skill players. While that’s still exceptional in terms of the stock of talent LSU has, it makes a point.

LSU hasn’t had a first rounder from the OL since the 90’s (granted La’el Collins got screwed). We also haven’t had many defensive linemen get drafted that high over the years (using Alabama as the bar) although we have plenty of NFL starters.

Compare this to a team like Alabama. First rounders routinely come from every position groups. The largest gap between their draftees and LSU’s is the amount of high picks they have in the trenches, which the disparity has been greatly shown the past couple of years when they dominate the LOS.

Was that the subject of my post?

The fact that you went right to an Orgeron defense tips your hand, Coleman. Just admit youre a Captain Orgeron sycophant and all will be well.

Yet other schools, who are much less talented than LSU, routinely manage 17 or more points against them.

Its coaching.

I dont know what other proof yall need to accept this reality. Its been going on for 10 years now.

I have shrugged off the poor offenses in the past because I love LSU football and I love having a great defense. But now I'm just to the point where winning is great and I'm happy for the young men because I know the work they put in, but it's just not an appealing product to consume anymore.

I will always be a staunch supporter of LSU athletics but for the amount of money and resources put into it, it's just not that entertaining given the build up every year compared to the product actually displayed. I don't want to watch an action movie in black and white or a super model in a poncho!

You don't see how completely ridiculous it is to include past offenses in a critique of Ed's offense right now. You can call me what you want but you're post isn't fair to the current coaching staff. If you want to be biased fine just know that you got called out for it.

Worked for Saban

HC just has to know his place and make the correct hires. Clearly O has not done this with the promotion of SE.

Thing keeping LSU winning right now is Aranda and our D coaches.
Offense is a pathetic joke.

Again, what is the subject of the topic?

The current coaching staff has been on staff for many years now.

Aranda has zero experience as a head coach. And he's a defensive guy, but you want a newbie HC to fix our offensive woes?

No, our next head coach will be a proven winner as a head coach and will have an offensive background.
