even referred to being at LSU as "a waste of his time "
He's right. Does that offend your delicate sensibilities?
Do you know how ignorant this question is? Are you a grad or what?

Watch the documentary. He’s a douche.

Players like Shaq, Pistol Pete, Macklin, CJ and many others were truely great players at LSU and beyond. Simmons simply attended here.
"Next Magic Johnson" Simmons was a first-team All-American as a freshman for LSU, of all the LSU greats listed, only CJ can make that claim.

Coaches should never be afraid to discipline players. That's not how it works at all. The Ball family can attest to this.

2x LSU grad. What's your point? If I could have started my profession immediately after high school without a college and post-grad degree I would have. Do you think it makes sense that he was ready for his profession straight out of high school but had to take a year either in college or in Europe or Australia instead of starting his NBA career immediately? Do you not consider that a waste of time?

He cost CJJ his job.
CJJ cost himself his job by being an inadequate HC for big-time SEC college basketball and not adjusting well in the transition from Jarell/Mickey to Ben, that's his job as chief strategist and court general for the program

I'm not disagreeing on this part but there's a way to express yourself that doesn't make you seem like a total dick. BS didn't have that knack. He appeared ungrateful and unappreciative.
I look at guys like Shaq and Booger McFarland as great ambassadors for LSU...not Simmons.
Feeling this way doesn't make me a bad fan by the way.....it just doesn't make me a fan of BS.
And for the record, I've supported the 76ers since the days of Dr. J, Malone, Barkley and AI....so this is a tough pill to swallow with BS on the team now.

Hardly....but I don't owe the kid any debt of gratitude whatsoever.
Worship your boy if you choose....it's a free country. Just don't expect everyone to automatically agree with you just because you say it is so.

by the way.....nice troll with your other thread. The shine was strong with that hook.

He filled the stat sheets, but was also kind of a team killer in a lot of ways. A lot of it goes on Jones for not checking the shite at the door and making him earn anything, but he will get a lot of the blame for the complete lack of chemistry.

This is, frankly, a bullshite argument when discussing Simmons. He's Australian and they knew he would have to go to college for a year when he came to the US for Montverde. If he didn't want to play in college, he could have stayed in Australia. They knew this, and they also knew he was a phenom, so don't act like he's wronged after the fact.

Coach Jones did a great job recruiting Simmons and Simmons was largely responsible for the alleged demise of Coach Jones. Coach Jones was hoisted on his own petard.
