There is a lot of anger being directed at the offense on this board, but little to no mention of the defense. Why not?

Because the Defense was on the field 3/4 of the game. If you ever played football on a level past Pee Wee, you would understand how hard that is.

Might be attributed to an offense that was guilty of 8 three and outs. I am sick and tired of an offense that has been the weak link of our team for the last...how many years now? Too many years for this crap to not be fixed.

I understand that we couldn't do a damn thing to stop or even slow down the one guy who caught most of the passes against our defense. Ole Miss and MSU marched up and down the field on us, too. It wasn't just last night.

Nope cause they got 26. Yep gametime 4th and 16 and we give up 26 but the defense can't be considered culpable.

Our defense was not as good this year as most.
That said, they laid the wood the entire game. MLB was a BEAST. We had trouble containing 1 WR.

Offense either needs to score points or run time off clock in 4th qtr. Neither done so we lost.
Ole Miss and MSU games were played under different circumstances. Chavis calls the game as he needs to for the win. The defense came to play this game, the offense not so much.

3 and outs by an offense will murder a defense's steam.

Example: LSU's defense gives up touchdown with like 2:30 minutes left. Yadayadayada, LSUs defense is back on the field with 1:30 left and no time outs were called. That's deflating.

Our defense barely has time to put the Gatorade to the mouth before they're called back out.

Dude, Shut the frick Up! Are you one of the offensive coaches or a family member of one of them? Either you are or you are severely retarded!

If not for special teams and defensive turnovers, our offense would have been worse...yes worse, if that's possible!

Come on...they had a 100 plays cause both our O and D failed to do what was needed.

You can't allow one player to put up 400+ total yds on you and then whine bout one area of the team cause you lose by 1.

It's a team game. We needed someone to make a play on O or D.

No one did when we needed it toward the end and we took the L.

It's not the end for LSU football and 34 wins since 2010 doesn't point to some kinda get your cliff jumping gear out for the decline in LSU football as some always want to put out when things don't go our way.

Seriously, the Defense sucking arse on 4th and long isn't part of the negatiger narrative, and so these retards don't know how to argue it.

4th and 16 or 4th and 25 who gives a flying frick???? The D lost the game for us right there. You can't let them f'ing convert on that.

I did poorly in a marathon once...it had nothing to do with me running 20 miles before the marathon started.

It happens. You people amaze me. How many times did we score because the defense gave us the short side of the field?

That 4th and 16 was an absolute miraculous throw by Tajh Boyd. It was covered. Boyd threw to a spot that only a quarterback who is absolutely on fire and playing outside of his body can throw to. He threw his receiver open. It's hard not to give him full credit for that particular play.

I was surprised we only brought 4 (maybe a 5th on a delay) on that play. I thought we would bring the house, but we didn't. That's one thing I would have done differently there. No guarantees the way Boyd was playing he wouldn't have done the same thing.

Our defense played out-fricking-standing last night with the exception of some poor tackling. That offense is good. I don't know what people were thinking beforehand, but their OC is one of the best in the business. He called an absolute gem. The poor tackling was disappointing but that will be improved as there are some young guys back there. Outside of that they were flying around everywhere and creating all kinds of havoc. Sometimes an offense just executes and you can't really do anything about it. Sometimes the OC just has your number and a great gameplan.

You have to give that quarterback and OC credit. When that offense is rolling it is one of the best in the country. Even considering that and the fact that we DO NOT have an offense, we had every opportunity to win and lost by one fricking point.
