Army just hired Ellerson from Cal Poly who used to coach with CPJ at Hawaii and he runs our O but CPJ said he throws in a some Wing T stuff, so it got me curious.

Because Kids now want to be stars and want to go to a college that will get them to the next level. A good option team will not put to many people in the NFL, 3 RBs splitting carries, QBs that run more than pass, and receivers that catch 15-25 balls a year. I think it would be hard to recruit 4-5 star players for a system like this. Put it this way, if C Johnson was still at GT this year, do you think he would like this off.? He'd be blocking more than catching..and his draft status would have to be ALL combine.

i'll just point out that navy, who runs the O a lot smoother than us at this point, was top 10 this season and most seasons i believe in fewest turnovers.

While it takes a lot of discipline to defend it, it takes just as much too run it. No one can be selfish for the unit as a whole to function. Thats why its the perfect offense for the service academies. They are taught discipline everywhere, not just the football field, and it neutralizes the other teams athletic advantage by making them think about their assignments.

It is a trick offense that fell out of favor because it doesn't work when the defense is prepared for it.

well, we have a 4 star WR coming in next year and dwyer lead the ACC in rushing by a long shot while "spliting carries". I believe there are plenty of players that want to play in our system.

I'm more excited now that we've had a few weeks to prepare for your offense. I would have had problems believing we could get our defense ready in a regular season game.

I just hope there was REAL practicing and preparation going on.

Anyone remember the 1990 Vanderbilt fiasco ? Waston Brown put in the wishbone in what turned out to be his last season.Vandy never punted that afternoon and got its only win of the season over LSU.

The next season after Vandy fired Brown and he was Miss State's OC,he put the wishbone in for the LSU game and Curley and Mike Bugar never could stop it and we lost 28-19.

b/c it forces the DE's and LB's to choose one or the other. You can change formations which can mix up responsibilites for the defense. They'll catch you in a look where the CB thinks he has qb and there's no one on the pitch. It's really awesome I love old school football.
