Coach zero made his bed, now he has to sleep in it. Woodward needs to have a long talk with the entire coaching staff and let them know that they get a mulligan this year but next year needs to be a championship-contending team or they can hit the road. Coach zero needs to do some serious soul searching and decide if he wants to live off his one great year or be a real coach who hires the best assistants in the country, so far he hasn't done that.

Unfortunately LSU will need to ask the donors to help bail them out this year. If pelini stays another year, it would be an even bigger disaster. Two losing seasons in a row and recruiting will tank and a loser mentality will set in (see Tennessee and Florida State). That costs the athletic department way more in the long run. It’s Coach O’s frick up but it affects the bottom line for years to come if not corrected by the end of the season.

My question is, can we get someone on a shorter contract (2 years) and stop paying top dollar to everyone who comes here no matter what?

Agreed. There are at least 50+ qualified guys that would take the LSU job on a 1-2 year contract and for a lot less than $2m+...many would take it for less than $1m per. We’ve gotten so arrogant and fixated on the “big name” that makes a splash in the news and have forgotten how to get off our arse, do your due diligence and find the best coach regardless if anyone knows their name or not

There is NO reason we should be paying a coordinator more than $1.5 million or more than a 2 year contract unless that coordinator is the HCIW

Someone has to call the Defense. No one worth hiring is available in the middle of the season.

Who is available at this time?
After the season, coaches are fired, assistants are available.
Until the season is over, and games are evaluated, we won't know who needs to be replaced.

I remember when Stovall was HC. He was asked, on his radio show, why he didn't call a certain play in order to score a TD.

He answered, that was the play we called, the players couldn't execute it.

We don't know the cause of the problem. Coach will know, and if history is any indication, he will visit the transfer portal or make coaching changes if necessary.

He did it with Canada and now looks like Pelini

You giving Ensminger a pass? Cause our offense was stuck in 1974 with no hope of it changing until Brady got here. Steve is an OC who is clueless on how to design a modern offense. And we’re trusting him to carry us into the future? O hasn’t hired one great coordinator yet. Not one.
