Ok
But what does it matter??
If it’s a grand parent or great grandparent
I personally know the family
If he wants to pitch for Italy congratulations to him.

As Carl Jung famously said, “thinking is hard, so most people just judge.”

Surprised that a player can play for another country in the WBC without having dual citizenship.

You're surprised that an event largely put on by MLB loosens the representation rules to get as many MLB players in the tournament as possible?

I wouldn't refer to Mondo as the best athlete ever from LSU,
however he is the LSU athlete that is most dominate in his individual sport

this is an interesting question. we think of pole vault as for weirdos and not real proper athletes like mathieu or Dylan crews. that makes sense, mondo isn't competing against millions of kids but only the tiny number who ever even tried PV.

but mondo is truly a monster, his sprint speed and power is unprecedented and being by FAR the best to ever do it has to mean something. his power to weight ratio is off the charts.

I would put mondo up there. I saw him do a sprint for fun vs some other athlete and his time was spectacular. he is a world class athlete and I wouldn't argue if people claimed he is the best ever tiger. He is fricking amazing.

He is eligible to play for Italy due to his family's heritage; specifically, his great-grandparents were born in Italy.

Damn, I guess I could've tried out for Scotland, England, Ireland, or Israel.

Who knew?

It’s a fricking kid’s game. It’s not the military.

LSU is known for the best athlete ever. Mondo

Mondo is the best LSU athlete in a given event, but not the best athlete ever.
