Why is no one talking about our defense yesterday?

Highest points per possession in a SEC matchup in a single game for UGA in the past 14 years. Have not seen one post about it. I know we have a bunch of transfers, and yes we’ve had a good season but jeez louise that was bad.
Edit: for the people saying “we have no depth”, “we only have x sec ready guys” I’m asking you why this was the worst defensive performance for an SEC team vs UGA since nearly before the iPhone was invented. You have to come up with something better than that.

Because everyone on this board is just assuming that our guys were "tired" for the past few games. And then in another thread they'll praise the the new S&C coach and system and how we're a step ahead of everyone else.
The reality is that the scheme and coaching were flat out poor. If we can play as well as we did against Ole Miss and Alabama, there was no reason for the defense to look as bad as it did against A&M and Georgia.

Didn’t have the depth to finish the year. Step 1 will be recruiting depth…

Depth, it’s lack of depth…. There’s no scheme or conditioning program that can fix that.

There are like 4 sec ready guys on the d line. That’s really all there is to say

There is a reason. Just because you refuse to accept that the team didn’t have any depth and were physically worn down the last two games doesn’t mean that it’s not a reason.

We went against the number one team in the nation who is balanced and big as hell. They can keep their huge TE's on the field and basically still get into 5 wide b/c they're freaks. They battled, but we just don't have the depth to keep up with a UGA.

Because it's easier to blame JD.

There have been plenty of posts trashing particular players. Where have you been?

Because if BK would have started Nuss, the defense would obviously have played a lot better….anyone could see that.

Umm did you witness Nussmeyer’s performance? That’s why.

Our DB group as a whole is average at best. That's not new, we've known that all year. Eventually we knew it was gonna get us again after Tennessee.

The easy answer is that injuries and a lack of depth finally caught up to LSU.

They think we have a great defense!

frick off with this. We are beat to fricking shite. The secondary was always duct taped together, we have 3 guys on the DL who play 75% of the game, we have a couple of mediocre LBs who make mistakes and teams have figured out how to work around Perkins, at least until he develops more. House doesn’t have any more tricks up his sleeve, especially for teams that have more talent than we do. A&M had more and UGA has a metric ton more.
In other words, just because you don’t like the answer doesn’t mean you haven’t gotten the answer. It’s plain as fricking day to anyone who knows anything about football.

Georgia's receiving corps, WR Ladd McConkey and their two HUGE tight ends, were unstoppable. I was also appalled at the inability of the Tigers to stop McIntosh and their other running backs. Georgia played most of the game as if it were a pickup game for them--utter and complete domination

horseshite. What we have is a spoiled fanbase that doesn’t accept the coaches not having a magic wand to fix talent and depth disparities.
Also, these comparisons make absolutely no sense. Ole Miss is just as much of a flawed team as we are. We were just the first to expose it, but we definitely weren’t the last. And Bama, for all of Bryce Young’s brilliance, doesn’t hold a candle to UGA this season and should be glad they didn’t play them. BOB is a shitty OC who can’t put their players in the best position to succeed. I knew going into that game that House could out-scheme him and he absolutely did.
UGA may not have a QB who is nearly as good as Young, but they have a FAR more balanced and efficient offense that can stretch a defense out and pound you with the run game. Bama was much easier to defend this season and a far better matchup for what we have. We also faced them out of the bye week after getting Burns and some others back from injury.
The A&M game sucked, but what showed up is that they have a lot more talent than we do at the moment. Take away two team leaders like Williams and JBC and play on the road, and that’s a recipe for a loss. Their 5 star freshman QB was finally ready to be turned loose and anyone who pays attention knows Achane is a great back. Him coming back for that game was a killer.
If you think I’m crazy, can you explain USC beating UT and Clemson with a dynamic offense after looking like shite all season? Sometimes young teams click and get hot or fired up for a game late in the season. Hell. We did the SAME THING to UF in 2020 and A&M to end the season last year.

Because Dawgs actually scored 14 points off turnovers.
