I think Raymond is top 5 in the country at his position. But O is by far the best defensive line coach in America when it comes to recruiting, developing, and coaching that position.

Don't think he goes to MSU and really hope he doesn't, but he does have a good relationship with Mullen and may be enticed - though he does love LSU, Baton Rouge, and the state of Louisiana. Mullen, also, has a ton of respect for coach O... I absolutely hate it but can see that happening.

Well...before he signs he's taking the opportunity to leverage for more money.

He's not going anywhere "this year". Take that to the bank. An extra 100k at LSU and he's making MSST DC $$$ for being a position coach. He's getting a raise, and a title, enjoy him for at least 2 more years

Not really.

Orgeron is going to get a major raise IMO.

He could be using MSU to get more money out of LSU. But he is worth every penny that he will get. Because he is one of the best DL coaches and a great recruiter.

Thanks to the debacle with Miles non-departure, every position coach ought to be saying, 'pay me for the risk I'm taking by staying here' and 'if you can sling around $15-20 million to make someone leave, you can surely spend $1 million to keep me around another year.' Another cost of our pathetic handling of the situation.

Another anchor that would keep him at LSU is that his kids attend the school. That, a raise, and there should be no problem keeping him here.

Add to it that he's from Larose, he may actually WANT to stay in his home state. I believe he's just holding out for more money, as well.

What risk? I wouldn't call being one of the highest paid coaches in the country at your title a risk. These guys all believe they are the best at what they do and if it doesn't workout here they will still get a job somewhere.

surely you're not that dumb. The risk is that if Miles gets fired after next year, most or all of the staff will likely be gone as well. There's your risk.

If you would have kept reading i also said that these guys all believe they are the best at what they do. You think if Miles gets fired someone won't pay a lot of money for O, Raymond, Grimes, Wilson, Aranda, and Ball. Ensminger has a ton of experience and would get hired somewhere. Cameron could be a OC in the pros again. BDP would catch on somewhere because of recruiting alone.
