One perfect example from last night. Taught from middle school on, in late innings 1st and third guard the lines and play a little deeper. Last night Our 3rd baseman playing even with the bag and off the line. What happens Tn hits a ball by 3rd DOWN THE LINE. In the eight we have runners on 1st and second, our left handed hitter ropes a ball toward first down the line. Outcome, Tn 1st baseman was there and got the out. At the time we could have scored BOTH runners. Difference?? Tn is coached, we aren't!!

Our fundamentals have sucked all year long.

When you can’t do the little things right, it’s hard to win

You guys are genius! Wish I was as smart as you! The Tigers got beat by the number TWO team in the country with young players. I am SO proud they've played Tennessee off their feet but come up just short.

TN is better. Our fans are just whiny bitches.

What’s funny is the amount of threads calling Tennessee players and coaches “whiny bitches”

This is silly. Doughty has to play close to the bag with the runner on third and less than 2 outs to keep the runner honest or the squeeze becomes an option. He’s also playing at double play depth.

Those balls were also very different. Beloso’s was a routine ground ball. The one that UT hit was smoked.

We lost because we couldn't score more than 4 runs.

That's it. We had chances, just didn't take advantage.

Yeah that’s not where you want to play your third baseman with a runner on third and one out.

For all the scouts posting on this board, it’s mind boggling that more people can’t acknowledge this

Gotta be objective girls. They are the better team

Dougherty is a 2nd baseman, not a 3rd baseman. I've watched him fail a lot at that position. I've never seen him come up with the dive down the line. And you have to know to take the easy out. Yes it's hard to win a game with 2 runs but when it's a pitchers dual defense has to be on its toes

If the 3B learned this in middle school, how is it a college coach fault?

LSU fans forget where they came from, evidently. We built our reputation on hatred from other fan bases.

Normal for a Maineri team, UNLESS there is an Andy Cannizaro type there to teach them how to play properly through practice, not intersquad games.

We don't have to worry about that for much longer.

This. It’s not very often that 2 runs will win a college baseball game.
