I am qualified to answer this question because I am a former College Baseball Player.
Totally disagree with this. At this point you are a Top 8 seed in regionals your goal is the CWS. You throw a guy now to see what you have to throw in situation for the CWS Regionals. LSU has already hung a banner for this year the SEC Tour. means nothing at this point.
Skip used to throw guys in midweek and lose to teams you just could not understand losing to. He did that because he played guys that did not play everyday in the midweek games to see what he had. PM does the same thing at times and he used the SEC Tour to give Gausman rest.

Moo State scored what 7 runs on us in 2 games. So simple math tells you that pitching was good enough to win both games. It's the bats that you should be concerned about.
