Why does Todd Peterson keep getting PT!?

This is so bad. I know there we're errors but one was his doing. Why not let someone else try to not give up runs for a little bit?

errors aren't on peterson my man

Ummm, yeah they are. He threw the ball to the bullpen himself.
(The first error anyway)

How is he supposed to get better if he's taken out in the first inning or anytime he doesn't do well? These freshman need experience. This team isn't as veteran as the fans make it out to be.

But it's veteran in the important places where veteran leadership is crucial. Middle IF, SP, C and Closer. Along with RF and CF/LF(Dup), this team has veterans exactly where needed in order to be an elite team, but their coaching is so mediocre it's making them look a lot worse than they are.

I agree. He's not good

Not to mention he's got a terrible look with the stirrups.

Has Reese pitched? He has looked good when he got limited work.

Threw a scoreless inning earlier

When they keep putting Peterson on the mound to get shelled it reminds me of Trey Hodges in 1997. That turned out OK.

What games has Reese pitched in?
Posted on 4/5/17 at 12:12 am to Tigahlife
He's pitched in 3 previous games mostly 1 inning stints.

Peterson is one of the worst pitchers in Mainieri's tenure.
It's as if Matt Clark is out there throwing meatballs on the mound.

As a coach, how long do you let a player hurt you before said "gained experience" is worth the cost?

I agree he has been pretty bad, but if you're going to try and get him innings and experience, a midweek game against Grambling is the time to do it.

The guy was a high school all american that sits in the low 90's. Not all of these guys come out of the gates with hit and miss stuff. The staff have to put these young guys out there early so that we can see who we can have a shot with in the postseason. Its a pretty simple explanation. If he is awful in his next 3-4 appearances, you won't see him again.

Yeah I think the Todd Peterson experiment for now needs to be kept to a minimum.
What's the deal with McKay? Is he hurt?

I agree. Sorry- didn't mean to suggest he shouldn't be in there. The only way you're going to find out what you have when you get into June is to give them some innings now. Obviously we've seen that we can't take these midweek games for granted, but there's definitely a little more wiggle room to get him some work now than in a conference game.
