So many people forget Coach O taking his Ole Miss team into Tiger Stadium on a Saturday night and nearly beating LSU. If it weren't for Russell to Bowe magic, it could've happened

Kevin Steele would be a better candidate for a head coaching job just on the premise he has been a DC.

Or both are terrible candidates because they both had utterly terrible records as head coaches? That seems like a pretty important reason.

Wow you just dont get it.

Ed Orgeron has been coaching for 32 years and and in those 32 years he has all of 3 seasons where he was at a position above dline coach.

Ed Orgeron DOESNT HAVE A COORDINATOR RESUME. HE HAS NEVER BEEN A COORDINATOR. So any coordinator woth some success has a better resume than O.

Ed Orgeron's resume as a coordinator is 0 wins and never once getting hired as a dc.
Educate yourself about cfb because you just sound ignorant.
Please explain how a coach ? with zero experience as a coordinator, has a good resume as a coordinator .

Like it was some great accomplishment for Daboo to be AHC and WR coach. I just raised your AHC and position coach (2 jobs) for a guy who had 3 jobs and two NC rings to show for it.

Meyer didnt go from position coach to hc at a major program
And Dabo wasnt just a position coach.

You have to be kidding.

Just because he never has been a coordinator does not mean he's not been offered the positions and always turned then down

Ha ha. Yeah he spent 29 of his 32 year career as a position coach because he wanted too. My god this fan base has lost their mind.

So O had not been a coordinator. I really don't care. He has a better resume than all those guys because as the HC this year at LSU, he has done better than any OC has.... You just don't get it.....

Ha ha. You repeatedly talk yourself into corners because you don't actually undrstand cfb.

You give Saban credit for miles 1st 3 years yet youre giving Orgeron credit for this year while he doesnt run the offense or the defense.
Every successful coordinator in cfb has a resume that shits on ed Orgeron's resume. Deal with it boy.

Also, ed orgeron isnt the head coach. He is the interim head coach.
But please continue to want a career dline coach to be lsu's hc. It just further proves 2 things. 1. You dont know simple things about football. 2. Youre a shite lsu fan. Always have been always will be.

Cool. If he gets the job I'll be behind him 100%.
But im pretty sure alleva wont gamble his lsu career on a guy that has never been successful at any coaching position above dline coach.
The people that want Ed oregon has head coach dont give a shite about lsu football. If they did they wouldnt want a 55 years old dline coach to take over one of the hardest joba in cfb.

i agree. coach o should get a second chance to prove himself. this team is always prepared with him. whether he is the best option at head coach to me is not important but whats important to me is that the team is prepared, the players love him, he can recruit, he will play the best players every week, no biases. he will hire a great o.c. and that we keep dave aranda. if we can do that then coach o can just be a head coach. this talent will evolve and this program will be great again. ps this team is winning with danny etling at qb for God sake DANNY BLEEPING ETLING lol. coach o win out then coach o is the favorite. it aint guaranteed that herman would go undefeated with lsu i mean look at sumlin at texas am. every yr his team falls off the last 5 games of the yr. briles never won a natty. c'mon man get on this "o" train.

Folks act like good Head Coaches never had a bad gig their first time out of the blocks. Ole Miss SUCKED.....and it's safe to say that he left that place with way more talent than they had before he arrived. The man has learned from some of the best in the business, and I don't care what anybody says, what he was done for this team is damn near a miracle...btw, using the same exact players and playbook that the great Leslie Miles had. So to disregard all that and then say he can't be successful is just plain stupid. He'll have Aranda, and I'd bet anything that the administration would want a new Offensive system. I hope gets the job, and he's won over the players. A 3 yr deal wouldn't kill us if he isn't a success...hell you suffered with LESS.....so why not give this man a shot.

It really is moronic for posters to compare the LSU job to the Ole Miss job. They don't even compare. Recruiting, facilities, $ for assistants are not comparable.

How dare he not want to hire a coach that was 10-25 at his only other head coaching stop and was far worse than the coaches who came before and after him.

He also had the 5th worst record in the HISTORY of Ole Miss. The worst coaching record at Ole Miss in 75 years. O was to Ole Miss as Curley Hallman was to LSU. He didn't just fail, he failed EPICALLY!

Coach O has to make as much as Dan Mullen makes at MSU ($4 million). How much do you think you will save, $1 million?

I find more recent history to be more relevant. He's 10-3 in his last two stints as head coach and if we win this weekend chances are LSU will be in the top 10.

Bellicheck took over the Browns. Actually had one of their best seasons ever. Who sucked before and after he left.

O took over a decent Ole Miss team from Cutliff and proceeded to tank it.

Yes I'm aware. I don't think that should count THAT much against him. Even the best coaches in the NFL had shite starts, i.e. Belichick and Carroll. I'm not saying Coach O is them. If I had a choice I'd hire either Herman or Jimbo, but just because O wasn't successful at crappy Ole Miss doesn't mean he will fail at LSU
