You are aware that when Mett was at UGA, he was toe to toe with Murray for the starting job, right? In some reports, he was better than Murray.

Reminder: Murray finished this past season second in passing yards in the SEC behind Tyler Wilson.

think about that for just a moment.

You really think a RS freshman who never played a Tiger game (ala JL in '08) would start over a junior QB?

Mett put up good numbers in JUCO and is probably the more mature one on the roster, but we'll see

Mett WILL start! He has the experience, knows the play book and has the talent--it is to Les's benefit that he starts. Next year is OUR year.

Miles early years, before he could completely install his Bo-Shem scheme?

You mean the power running scheme? Which everyone praises about SEC teams?

Funny how short peoples' memories are. I seem to remember quite a bit of passing with JR, MF, and JL's first year

This is exactly what I was thinking.

Les ran the ball so much this year because...why wouldn't he?

First of all it was working, we were winning. Second of all he had QB's who had set a precedent as not being able to carry the team to victory on a regular basis. So it was smart coaching to run more.

When you have a QB that you can rely on Les will not run 80% of the game. A reliable QB in this system will get 200+ yards per game. See 2007 as proof, this was the last reliable QB we have had.

Having a passing threat makes the running game better. Mett doesn't have to sling it all over the field to be a big upgrade at QB.

God, the meltdown on the Rantwould be epic if Randall started.

I guess we'll see in the spring. We haven't heard anything but good in regards to Randall so you never know

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he uses him like he used RP in 07 just to get him some reps and add a wrinkle to the offense

I haven't seen Randall so I don't know what type of caliber player he is

May the best man start. I don't have any sort of emotional attachment to Mett

I know you are a logical thinker

What kind of qb is LM more favorable to?

Which qb has been taking the most scout team snaps?

LM past actions tell you he is likely to do a. The logical or b. the exact opposite of what we would consider logical

Pevy I am saying neck tat is getting half the snaps and will start before the Alabama game if mett shows in any way shape or form that he had the ability to lose the game

You're wrong, and you don't have to quadruple space every sentence.

The exact words by Mett three hours after the NC assbeatdown was "As soon as I walked off that field, I realized that this is MY TEAM now". I believe him.

We already know that Coach Miles is all about seniority for the QB position. So Mett is a solid lock to start.

We've had exactly 1 "running" QB become a full time starte since Miles was here and that was only after Lee's interception plagued season. Why didn't RP take over for Flynn after he lost that Kentucky game?

I guess Rocky D will be our starting safety next year.

iven Miles' predilections for a run-oriented offense, are you sure Mett will be his first choice?

Overstate on here.

Not that Miles isn't clearly a power-run game disciple, his decisions to limit the passing game were strictly based on personnel.

Whether or not people agree with that decision is another matter, but Mettenberger will have 400ish attempts next year, if he stays healthy.

Why do you guys assume Mett will start next season?

Honestly, I don't assume that. I really don't. I think Miles has earned my distrust in this department.

But, it isn't worth getting tied in knots about until it actually happens or not.

I can see Mett easily working his way into the doghouse for some reason, but think he will be the guy in game one, barring some arrest.
