Why do we always assume it is the coaches' fault?

The players have to execute. Not trying to completely exonerate the coaches. But they ARENT THE ONES WHO PLAY THE GAME. A coach can have the greatest gameplan in the world but if the players dont execute it doesnt matter. I say all that to say maybe it isnt Aranda's fault the defense is struggling. He can organize the drills and call the plays but if the pass rushers cant beat their blocks, the DBs cant stay with their man, and the players cant wrap up and make a tackle there is nothing he can do.

Be cause's it's the coaches job to have players in the game capable of executing whatever the coaches ask of them.

The players aren't pros, so of course even great players will screw up. But I think it's a fair answer to your question.

ETA: How the shite is this getting downvotes?

Because IT IS THE GD COACH'S FAULT!
He recruits the players
He develops the players
He chooses which players are in the game
He runs the defense
He gets PAID Millions to make sure the defense doesn't SUCK!

When you are paid that much money, excuses go out the window.

Dude gets paid 2.5MM to prevent teams like Ole Miss from doing that. He needs to correct it. Whether its depth, talent, scheme, ... he needs to correct it.

It’s both

But there is no substitute for talent on Defense

We are lacking in our front 4 and he’ll we’ve had issues on the back end. Realistically we want to get pressure with 4 and just aren’t.

Delpit isn’t playing like 2018 Delpit.
Harris is our
Vincent was our (I think)

because the coaches are paid millions of dollars to recruit, evaluate, develop, motivate the players. The product on the field is the coaches' responsibility.

Now sure, if a player drops a TD pass or misses a FG to lose a game, that's not really something the coach can control. And those things happen.

But overall, the coaches are responsible for the performance on the field.

Aranda should have had made better adjustments on Saturday, but one major player in particular had a horrible game. He was out of position multiple times, and that contributed to a couple of their long touchdowns.

I have never seen anything like it. Most of the it's always coaching people barely have a basic understanding of how the game is played.

Coaches are the professionals and the kids are not for one thing. The guy making millions has to account for the way we are performing first and foremost. In this specific case, the problems are with scheme, discipline, and basic fundamentals of playing good defense. It’s not talent and we have seen the kids play great defense before. It’s on the guys making 2 plus million a year.

Why pay coaches so much money if that is the case?

If you watch the game really close you will see sometimes the defense is aligned properly and someone gets out of their gap or blows coverage and they give up plays (player's fault). Other times you can tell it's gonna be a big gain because the defense is in the wrong play (coach's fault). I say there is plenty of fault to go around. Another thing is, I don't see a true leader of this defense like they had last year in DW.
