Rohan Davey saved this program. He had a huge role in bringing LSU back to a program who believed in themselves. LSU should forever appreciate what he did for us.

I replied before I read the thread. Had no idea someone was making a "race" point. For anyone who thinks race plays into anything with this team, just frick off and crawl back into your cave.
I am also a Lee supporter, and I'll tell you why. The passing game is different with Lee in. The early part of this season we used a timing and precision passing game which was fun to watch. Quick throws and nice down field passes. When Lee is on, that is what he can bring. He has a nice touch. And any QB can hand off.
Jefferson doesn't bring the same kind of game. His passing can be very nice, and he has shown that, but we don't run the timing plays and slants with Jefferson. Things take longer to develop. He does bring something else, however, an extra running back who can throw. This is extremely valuable when the receivers are covered or the rush is beating the blocking line.
I also give Lee a tremendous amount of credit for filling in the way he did and leading this team the way he did.
"Race" has nothing to do with nothing.

It's the whole 'love' and 'like' thing. We love all of our players but don't like many of them when they're playing for us. When they leave, the love comes out. That's our relationship with Rohan in a nutshell.

This is why I loved Rohan Davey.
He was the best downfield passer I have seen since I have been a fan lsu. He was one of the better passers in sec history. Could you imagine if he had four years with the talent of todays team. He would be the best qb on sec history.
He should never have split time with booty but booty was a la guy and had the stigma of top qb recruit in the nation before he went to baseball so the fans demanded he played. I think the coaches tried to play him to much because that number qb tag carries a lot of weight in Louisiana. Just look at Russell shepard. He is going to leave lsu having never thrown a pass. But because he was a number one qb recruit. A lot of fans will beleive long after he leaves that he should have been our qb.

During the regularseason, Davey passed for 3,347 yards, becoming the first QB in LSU history to pass for over 3,000 yards in a season. Davey also beat Peyton Manning's junior-year performance at Tennessee in 1996 (Manning threw for 3,287 yards that year), which was 9th best in SEC history. With 3,351 yards of total offense (3,347 yards passing, 4 yards rushing) on 405 plays, Davey had an average of 8.27 yards of total offense per play, making him the 5th person in SEC history to finish a season with more than 8.0 yards of total offense per play (minimum 300 plays).
Davey's best performance during the regularseason was at Alabama (televised by CBS), when he passed for 528 yards (becoming the first LSU quarterback to throw for more than 500 yards in a game). By passing for 528 yards against Alabama, Davey also became #3 in SEC history for most passing yards in a game (beating Peyton Manning's 523 passing yards against Kentucky in 1997).

Rohan was "one of the good ones". And if we can all be honest for a second, Booty acted black alot
jesus. you sound like one of those morons who justifies his racism by saying "there's a difference between black people and n*****s."

Is there anyone in the LSU fan base who really thought Booty was better than Davey?
not me....but that shite is really old.

Do you think people would have preferred 2001 Mauck over 2001 Davey if they were able to have such an option in hindsight?
Davey had more natural talent....Mauch had more maturity. that said, Davey was as good as it got at LSU at his position. that kid could ball.

Didnt he get arrested for stealing after he left LSU?
Low point for RD was when he got booed horribly bad at TS vs au.
High point for him was OT win vs tenn.
Must be tough being qb at LSU.

I'll never forget rohan running his arse all over Tennessee in '00 only to limp back to the huddle call a play and do it again. The guy was all heart....with a frickin cannon

How is it racist to say that JJ reads the coverage slow and his wind up before throwing makes him slower? Do people not watch TV? We have, at best, two average Sr. QBs. We have won a majority of the games despite them.
Hopefully Mett's accuracy is improved so we don't have another 2 years of the QB hate threads.

here is the counter point to your thread my friend.

Come on man. If you can't admit that SOME posters prefer Lee over JJ because of race only, you're being naive. It's probably a small percent but it comes out some. When posters call JJ dumb( I've spoken face to face with JJ and he is far from dumb). No doubt there is the opposite going on. Some posters get in an arguement and start to lose, then thy resort to saying racist. There isn't anyway to prove racism so their really isn't a response for that.

What this thread really shows well is that race plays a minor part in any of this. Instead, what you see is a viciousness against the disfavored QB, whoever he is. Josh Booty played for some awful teams and had serious struggles, while having to throw a ton to have any chance of success. One Dinardo leaves, Booty gets one year with Saban, plays an excellent game in beating Bama at LSU for the first time since 1969, makes FIRST TEAM ALL SEC, and yet he is villified even today by an embarrasingly high percentage of the fan base. Sure, I wholeheartedly agree that Davey was better than Booty. I frankly believe that Davey was the best QB LSU has had at least since Hodson and probably since Jones (and I am not a JR basher - I really believe Rohan was that good AND had great intangibles). But what you see with so many fans' reactions to Josh Booty is largely what you see in the current situation. Many of our fans pick a side and then have no problem savaging the other. Not my favorite thing about LSU, but the treatment of Davey and Booty strongly suggests that race plays, at most, a very small factor.

I wouldnt count on that cause those who get off eating our own will just find another target...they can't help themselves.

i wonder why
eta: i really dont wonder, I know the fricking answer.
