There is a risk we lose once though and that would fricking suck

We have never lost to USL, in what, 22 tries? I remember the last time we played them was in 2009 and beat them 31-3. And that was one of the closest games in the "rivalry"!

I hear people say we shouldn't play them but I'd pick Tulane over ULL, ULM, McNeese, Southern, or Tech

More exposure in state? LSU will never need tulane for any reason For recruiting, that's absurd. Three games in TS, one in N.O. ? tulane does not want to play LSU in the Dome, LSU will never play in their little 40K stadium. And note that there is not one weenie fan coming on here & pushing to play LSU, anywhere. They don't care, why should LSU?

That’s wrong

We have been playing Tulane since the 1800s. We were played them for over 30 years before the SEC was founded.
understood, but no one today was around for that. Some of the old timers remember when Tulane was in the SEC and that's what drove the "rivalry" into the 70s, when I was a kid.

But it was a complete mismatch throughout the years, and I never quite latched onto the rivalry with Tulane in the 70s and beyond.

Eh, they haven't scored a TD on LSU since 1924 and only 2 in the history of the series. And now they've lost the coach that made them semi-competitive for a brief time. They were 6-7 last year, including losses to Rice and ULM

Nothing to gain by playing Tulane in anything. They always play 10X's over their head.

The #1 Program in the State doesn't run from the #2 program just because. You play them, beat their arse, then continue to pilage New Orleans recruting.

So now LSU is "running" from tulane'? Good Lord. A good friend was the head linesman in their last game in TS & as all the refs were meeting in the corner of the endzone, by tulane's gate, pre game, the tulane HC eased down the sidelines & using his hands, told / motioned for the refs to keep the ball in bounds. He wanted to keep the clock moving to speed up the game. My friend said that he had never seen anything like that in 25+ yrs.
