re: Why do most people blame coaches and never the players?

Coaches are adults who should and generally do take the heat.
Players are students who while playing a sport also need to go to class and do other things to prepare themselves for the future.
One gets paid pretty well, the other gets a coke and a bag of chips.
Do you really want to "blame" 18-21 year old people? I personally don't blame either generally when my team doesn't win (college wise).

you've read a lot of blame in football past regarding JJ.
You just proved the mans point. You had to go back to 2011 for your example.

it's easier to criticize something like the game last night
And why should we be critical of that game? We can be critical of every fricking thing that goes wrong in every fricking game if we want, but why? The team found a way to win a every important baseball game.
This team is proving our negative turds wrong.

Because most people in here are coaching experts in football, baseball, and basketball. It's long proven they know more than any current coach.

Good thing players aren't human and never fail.

The coach is the one who decides who will play so if a player doesn't perform well he's to blame. Also the coach is the guy who decides what players make the team and who pitches.

It's the coaches job to have the players ready and out there in the best situation to win games. Kids striking out are the kids fault. Having the weaker guy in the lineup striking not producing is the coaches fault. Leaving the pitcher in too long, not bunting when needed, having your slowest runner on the base path in a crucial part of the game is the coaches fault. I don't blame a coach for a player not executing, even though that can be from lack of coaching, but I do blame a coach who clearly does not have his players in the best situations to win games. There were numerous coaching blunders by PM is last nights game by the way.

It's called the Rant. Took me a bit to remember early on exactly what you get from the site, Rant. There is no minimum IQ for this site, it is what it is.

Coaches are getting paid millions and players only half that....so double the responsibility.
That's a joke if you're from the NCAA.

Thumbs up to OP. Tigers had won 14 straight, were on the side of some misfortune, and guys behind me were still going on and on about the 2-2 pitch-out call by PM. Negativity was rampant, and then..........

There's no reason for Beau Jordan to be in it unless Jordan is fellating PM on a daily basis.

Main answer, these are college players not pros, and this board's guidelines are that attacking players risks a ban.
This site is a joke when it comes to monitoring threads and posts for attacking players. If I was that inconsistent as a teacher, coach, principal, I would have been fired by now.

1. These are usually amateur athletes and younger people.
2. Coaches get paid a lot.
3. Often it is yearly results that start to really get people frustrated and that usually indicates coaches

It has gotten old to see the constant stream of negativity when anything adverse occurs. Blame is not necessary at those times. Lets not forget those guys in the other uniforms are pretty good and also on scholarship. Its way past time to let the game or season play out before the constant diatribe against every LSU coach who loses a game.

Whether they get paid or not does not change the fact that they are the ones with ball, bat, and or glove on the field performing.

2. Coaches get paid alot
The amount they get paid or the fact that they are paid at all does not shift responsibility.
Surely coaches deserve criticism. Mainieri isn't above criticism, but this board wants blood for every little hiccup.
