re: Why do many Lsu fans hate Texas A&M so much?

I'm not sure if it's region-specific. *for reference, I'm in Chalmette*
There are different reasons/sources of hate. People hate Bama because of Saban/The Dynasty/the fanbase/the entitlement... take your pick for the Crimson Tide.
LSU fans don't like A&M because they want to act like they are bigger and tougher than they are. They left the Big 12 to escape from one big brother in UT but got adopted by another in LSU.
74-72 and the commemorative cups.
The cringe, cult-adjacent behavior.
"Ball Five"
these are my main reasons for disliking Aggie
Johnny Manziel's insufferable arse.
Jimbo Fisher
It really all depends on your POV. There isn't just one reason.

When I was a student, we always opened the football season with aTm.
My hate is pure.

This right here. There is a portion of their fan base (not all of them) that believes they are morally and ethically superior just because they are Aggies. They look down on all things LSU and Louisiana, and they consider the entire state and all residents as poor swamp trash. When you attempt to discuss sports with these folks, the conversation will eventually turn to “well our school is better academically and we have more money than you”. They still believe LSU owes them money for canceling the home and home series back in 1995. They will never let it go.
I don’t want to paint with such a broad brush because it’s a huge school with lots of fans. I have Aggie friends and coworkers that are cool, great people. But venture over to TexAgs and the mood changes. Their stuck-up fans are the loudest keyboard warriors over there.

You are wrong, they are our rivals, just not exclusively.

If you have to ask, you'll never understand.
Also, ever been to College Station to watch a football/basketball/baseball game? That oughtta give you a clear picture.

Where did you get your information for that statement?
The Texas A&M Corps of Cadets will commission 165 cadets into the U.S. armed forces this week — an indication of the confidence the Department of Defense has in the Corps to produce some of the nation’s finest military officers. These newly commissioned officers will enter the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Space Force as second lieutenants and ensigns.
Texas A&M has routinely commissioned more officers into the military than any other university in the nation, except for the military academies.
Because of the roughly 800? graduating senior cadets, 165 will join the military. @650 played dress up.
The underlying attraction from the gay community is way overrepresented in that group.

Being from Houston, I’ve always found fans of arse To Mouth university to be weird and gay, but they are nothing compared to UT.
UT does not belong, and I despise them with the burning hatred of a thousand suns. If y’all think aTm is arrogant without accomplishment, just wait.

Honestly, it's a pretty historic rival.
-We've played them a lot and from the beginning. I think they are our 6th or 7th most common opponent in LSU's football history.
-It's close. Only Starkville is a closer SEC school, maybe Ole Miss.
-I think one of the biggest reasons we're rival is that culturally, we're intertwined. The Oil industry has brings a lot of LSU grads to the Houston area and a lot of aggies can be found working in Louisiana.

We've played them 59 times.
.
Bama, Ole Piss, MSU, Auburn, Ar-Kansas, UF and Tulane are the only schools we've played more times.
We've played them almost twice as many times than we have UGA and Tenn.
and if you have to ask why they are disliked, then you need to interact with them a few times and you'll get the picture. No one likes them but their own kind.

I don't hate them as I'm over in the panhandle of Florida.
But they are some weird pompous assholes.

I had no issues with A&M, then they joined the SEC and A&M fans that I worked with let me know how much they hated LSU.
If you hate my school, I'll hate you back

If you had ever lived in the Houston area then you would understand.

1. They used to beat LSU every year in the 90's to start the season
2. Strange Fan base
3. 12th Man
4. Cups made in 7 OT game
5. Weird gameday tradtions
6. Sacred Ground
7. Yell Leaders
8. Haven't won any major championships in our lifetime but act superior
9. Nickname "Aggies"
Is that enough?

there is a lot of interaction between the 2 fan bases in the oilfield.
and as another mentioned, we used to play them every year back in 80s and 90s.
LSU played A&M annually during the 70’s also. They played every year from 1960 through 1975. They played other series before that. They have been playing somewhat regularly since 1899, altogether, 60 games.
