When it was announced at the game they said "You knew him as Chris Jackson when he played at LSU........"

I dont know what the fuss is all about. Just an FYI.

Among others...health, school, family...it was just the right thing to do. Though we all missed his brilliance on the court.

Definitely can't blame him for leaving to be the 3rd overall pick.

Wish he had stayed through at least his junior year, his jersey would probably be in the rafters. At least I hope it would be

I really think his jersey should be retired. I have no love for Islam and the not standing for the Anthem thing was at best misguided BUT he still should be up there. I don't care if your religion is eating live puppies if you average 30.2ppg as a freshman your shite gets in the rafters.

Speaking of retired jerseys anyone else think the ones we have now look like they were made out of construction paper? Surely they can do better than that?

One is an obvious sign of disrespect, the other is not. No one here would mind if a player from LSU just thanked "Ala", but that is not what he did. He disrespected our country. He should have been banned from the league that was paying him millions because of the nation that he was disrespecting. Chris Jackson died when he became the other guy.

Funny. That is the kind of shite they would say in the middle east.

"His Momma call him Clay!"

If stats were accrued when Chris Jackson, Lew Alcindor, or Cassius Clay..that's the way they should be labeled..or with both names seperated by slash or clarification..

Uh... or how about just call somebody by his or her fricking name, and not the name that person had 20 years ago. This is really a simple concept.

When Dominic Williams comes back to Tiger Stadium, they shouldn't introduce him as Dominic Davis.

bullshite...how far are you gonna take that?

What if Matt Mauck gave a Nazi salute during the championship victory? Is that totally acceptable even if its just his personal beliefs?

Abdul Rouf or whatever he calls himself is a dumbass piece of shite in my opinion. Hell of a ball player though...

Yesterday at the game, the same thing happened. I kinda backed up in case someone sucker punched the guy. The I thought maybe the riot squad might come in to get the guy. Right before tipoff while the anthem was playing two guys were talking with their back to the flag while waiting in line for a coke and hot dog.

Then a woman come out of the restroom telling her little girl she should have washed her hands. This right as the anthem is playing. What is this world coming to? Talking during the anthem and not washing your hands after using the restroom.

Bottom line - Lay off the dude.

Would I want a slave name or a terrorist name? That is the question.

Obama didn't mention his middle name during the election, but is now proud of it since being elected.

IMO, bottom line is yes you are free to disrespect the flag, the anthem, and the country for that matter with your actions and words...

but also you are not free from the criticism and the actions of others who disagree with your actions and words...

just as you are free to express, speak, and take actions for your beliefs so are others free to express, speak and take actions against your beliefs with theirs...

bottom line you can't have it both ways...

I agree. But then again, others are free to express their beliefs and take actions against those that express their beliefs and take actions against those who express their beliefs and take actions...and so on.
