The running back position actually requires more from players than just taking a handoff and running the football, surprisingly enough.

I agree with this, I just think Ford is our biggest playmaker at running back and maybe even on the whole offense. I really think we need to find ways to get him in. It kind of reminds me of when Jimbo told Saban that Skyler Green didn't know the whole playbook and Saban said something along the lines of, then I guess we need to run the plays he knows.

Have you watched the games closely? Through four games Ford was clearly our best back.

I think it's a combination of the tough week for Blue and the fact that FORD IS IN THE DOGHOUSE SON!

which is why you don't go by the numbers. Ford had 9 carries vs. Kentucky and didn't run well at all, then he drops the pitch. Blue comes in and runs well. With the depth at RB, if you're not maximizing every opportunity in each game and practice, you're going to get passed.

It just doesn't make sense to me to have a guy outperform every other back on the team through four games, then when he is outperformed for one game, he gets taken out of the rotation.

This topic always amuses me this year. We have 5 really good RBs, we can't give them all the ball..plus let Sheppard/Randle/Beckham/Peterson catch 5 passes a game!

I like rotating 2/3 backs each game and play to their strengths against defensive weakness. I look for Ford/Blue to get the majority of the work next week, with Ware getting 5-6 carries..then Sunday we'll hear Ware is in the doghouse!

BLUF: LSU is playing like it has 8 games left and taking the steps to make sure everyone gets there as healthy and fresh as possible.

Look at the flip side, if TR goes out for Bama they are screwed..

no way in hell Blue should have been in on those short yardage situations.

Obviously Ford has problems in pass protection, he has had those problems all year and he played up until now. He's our most explosive runner, so it makes sense that Miles would bench him.

The last two games, I thought Blue showed why he was recruited highly. He just needs more carries to become a dominant back. We have at least four backs that are competent to play SEC ball.

Ford is better then ford with ball in his hands. Blue should not have been running it in at the goal line. He is not a short yardage back. Almost no gain every time on third and short

Also, Ford's ypc is higher but part of the reason is because he isn't asked to get any tough yards. The same lack of toughness that makes him a liability in blocking also makes him a liability in short yardage situations. His longest run of the season is 26 yards and Ware's is 23. It isn't like he is breaking off these huge runs every week that no one else is capable of.

We don't know the whole story for some reason miles does not favor Ford. Ford is our best back but maybe he has violated team rules or doesn't know the plays or doesn't block.

Last year Miles played JJ over JL the whole year eventhough JL was clearly better.

i'm sure Ford is excited that the team won big yesterday. Knowing that LSU rushed 49 times and he only got one carry, i bet he was probably feeling down and left out though.
