I think a "you've had 35 carries have a seat, son" is fine.

So you think LF deserved the record more than Guice? Like Clint said, "Deserve's got nothing to do with it." Why is Guice viewed by some to be this lesser than player? Just because he's not as hyped doesn't mean he isn't a great RB in his own right.

You don't think Guice would have broken the record if he played against Ole Miss with the majority of carries? The holes that LF7 had was amazing. I could have broken the record that night. He went untouched every time.

Guice and Fournette had the same number of carries against Ole Miss.

I like Guice but I agree with op. 37 carries is pushing it a little too far. I was ok with it until the last drive when we were up 21 with 3 minutes to go.

Both are great backs with different styles of running so it is hard to compare them.

The ypc comparisons do not really work because you have the compare the carries vs the competition they were up against.

I think a lot of it is about matchups. Fournette was the better back against Ole Miss. He just seemed to hit those holes so much faster and it looked like Ole Miss was scared to take him on. Guise was the better back in other games. Unfortunately we really did not get a chace to see them get equal opportunities in the same games.

Perfect answer IMO. Give it to your best guy and let him seal the deal. I'm sure they also had the record in mind the closer he got to it. Guice deserves the record just as much as Fournette. They've both busted their asses for us

I do agree that against Auburn, Fournette could've had 350 to 400 yards that day if he had been allowed to play deeper into the 3rd to 4th quarter. He had beaten Auburn's defense into wet paper bag mode. If there are any injustices here, it's that we'll never know how Fournette's junior season could've been without injury. That being said, we got a chance to find LSU'S next great back

I was thinking the same thing. Also take into account that LF didn't even travel to the game at A&M when suspended Arden Key was on the sidelines. Something just seems a little odd about that game and the fact that LF wasn't on the sidelines with Key was and they gave Guice so many carries risking him getting hurt. It just feels like there is something more to this but we will probably never know.

I agree with this statement. It seemed Odd that LF didn't travel to be a part of the team, injury or not. Be there and be supportive of your teammates. Maybe letting Guice break that record was O's way of letting LF know that he isn't the prima dona he thinks he is. It goes back to LF taking those selfie pics with the fans during the game. Things have seemed off with LF this whole year. I know he was injured but to what degree? It almost seems like once he realized how much he had to lose, he may have started protecting his investment, which is himself.

In case you didn't notice that game was far from being salted away. Guice was hot, looked fresh and wasn't hobbling to the sideline every third play, give the man the rock. Frick records, LSU in a few instances this year would probably have been better off with Fournette sitting. Frick records and frick hype
