Really?? you deduced this with your obvious superior intellect??? Wow. I'm in awe.

Y'all are playing argument. It's cute.

It's a "what have you done for me lately" league, and Miles hasn't done much lately. It is what it is.
Succinctly put..
I am a Miles supporter and over all think he has been good for LSU. However, his recent years SEC record lets me know the sun is setting on Miles.
The only question for me is how low do you want that Sun to sink into the horizon before you make a change.

We finished in 2nd place and look forward to having them play in our stadium next year.

Its as relevant as the 10,000,000 time pumpers have thrown up Miles record at LSU since 2005.
Miles's record since 2012 is still among the upper echelon in CFB. It's not up there with Florida State, Ohio State, Alabama, and Clemson, but those are among the top teams in the country during that span.
The way this played out was pretty much what needed to happen, although it was a massive clusterfrick from an administrative standpoint.
If you can't get a coach that was viewed as superior or equivalent to Miles (i.e. Jimbo Fisher), then you take what you have until 1) Another superior or equivalent option becomes available; 2) Your current option improves upon himself; or 3) your current option declines to an even greater degree until the coaching pool of superior or equivalent options is larger than it was previously.

its not just about losing 4-5 games?

We have only lost 4-5 games 3 times in 11 years. Not that bad.
People act like we are 7-6 this year.

SammyTiger. Miles is not one of us. He claims to be. Stoops bleeds OU. That leverage move George Bass pulled in 2012 proved to me that Miles is gonna mine the gold and when its gone he will sail away.

Shut the frick up.
Bob Stoops gets paid 5 mill a year. You think OU just gives him raises out of the goodness of their hearts?

Consider this though:
If we lose the bowl game, he has lost 4-5 games in 4 out of 8 years since Saban's players left.
That's mediocre.

From 2005-07, LSU went 34-6 with an SEC Championship
From 2010-12, LSU went 34-6 with an SEC Championship
This whole Saban's players mantra really needs to die.

Tbh, you seem to be one of the most miserable people on here. All you do is complain

The man has barely been a position coach or a coordinator.
I missed this last night...but...what?
1982-1986 - OL Coach (Colorado)
1987-1994 - OL Coach (Michigan)
1995-1997 - OC (Ok State)
1998-2000 - TE Coach (Dallas Cowboys)
2001-2004 - Head Coach - OK State
2005-2015 - Head Coach - LSU
So...position coach or coordinator from 1982-2000 - 19 years.
But, that's not very much.

You don't see a clear distinction between referring to Les' resume at LSU and discussing Les' record at another school, in another conference?

Fair enough on the position coach, I misremembered and thought he was a GA at Colorado and didn't fact check myself. Had a buzz from a company event TBH.
I also don't hate keeping Miles as much as my most recent posts probably indicate. I'm glad LSU kept him if they weren't able to land Jimbo or another big name.

That's better than 10/13 conference teams and 5/6 division teams.

then I suppose you're satisfied. I, however, am not.

I'm not satisfied. I have perspective. Miles is among the best of a group of coaches who are being paid out of their arse. He's certainly done enough in his time here to buy one more year of good faith.
