The coaches see Howard in practice and know how he's progressing. If he's third on the depth chart he's not close, no sense in throwing him in there and potentially ruining his confidence.

If he has to rely on the fan base for confidence then we are in serious trouble.

I don't know that we can beat Alabama with what we have now, but I DO know we would be run out of the stadium with Nussmeier at quarterback. The kid is way too reckless with the ball, and he wants to throw a 70-yard touchdown on every play. I don't know that those traits can be coached out of him. Some quarterbacks seem to have a gene for that.

Daniels gives us the best chance to win. Clearly.

He’s played in a lot more college games than 3. If he can’t read the field by now, the chances of him magically figuring it out are slim.

What's wrong with pointing out the problems with his performance? It is nothing personal. He seems like a stand-up guy and a leader. He really struggles to see the field. If he did, the ST aside, LSU would be 3-0.

He's gonna be very much improved as the year goes on. We will win several games with him in charge. Then Howard can take time to develop, at his own pace.

Look at it this way, we could have been stuck with nuss last night.

Well. Johnson could get the ball downfield with much better accuracy. Danials has been a starter now for what 3 years. If ain’t got it now won’t get it. Run first guy.

Dude is no. 18 in the country in QBR so, while he probably is a little too conservative, he doesn't turn the ball over so I will take that trade.

I'm a little more optimistic about JDs running than many I guess. He reminds me a little Lamar Jackson of the Ravens, who runs a lot but also has a feel for going down soft or getting out of bounds.

JD makes me nervous, but he takes few clean shots. He's a hell of a scrambler.

So were Jennings and Harris. Jordan Jefferson too. The fanbase is tired of qb's who can't pass year after year. Why ? It's mind numbing how many pitiful passers LSU has had in the fold the last 10-12 years.

Because:

1-Some are not fans but Trolls who love trying to stir schit up on an LSU Message Board which is open to anybody and virtually unpoliced.

2-Some are just negative minded people who are constantly waiting for the next disaster in their lives. It’s their nature.

3-Some are young and talk a big game and pretend to know more than they do.

4-Some can actually watch a players performance and see something other than the obvious. I watched the Southern Game and it convinced me that Brian Kelly has the right QB starting. Nothing against Nuss but he clearly is not ready. This fact does not matter to these people because they are invested in a player and not the team.

There are more reasons but 4 is good.

No real lsu fans him to fail. Its just very frustrating watching us have 3 completions with 2 minutes and some change left in the first half.
He didnt even connect on 60% of his passes. He refuses to throw open wrs. He refuses to throw the ball unless someone is running wide open. He cant push the ball down the field as he threw for 5.7 yards per completion last night.
The kid has heart in spades and is a very mobile qb and if he was just a bit better passing i think every lsu fan woukd line up behind him.

There are some people on this forum who absolutely have an agenda they are pushing and want certain players to fail or Kelly or certain members to not work out to make themselves look better. Every fanbase has a few idiots who would rather be right than actually support the team. Ignore those assholes.

Most of us are critical because we just want the team to be better and see plenty of room for improvement. I want to see Daniels ball out and improve as a passer. I’m not sure he will at this point, but that doesn’t mean I won’t support him or gladly eat crow if he proves me wrong. Most of us who are critical fall into this category.

We do support him! Even if he sucks I support him.

But I’m constantly thinking the opposite of you: “why is everyone on Rant in love with this guy, when we CONSTANTLY have WRs streaking wide open down the field and he doesn’t get the ball to them”.

I do support the young man, but he has to learn to throw the damn ball. Receivers are rarely going to be wide open in this league. He does not see the field well, throwing to t(e wrong guy. His biggest attribute is his speed & that will take him only so far.
