Take 12 for 19. That does not look bad at all. If we had shot that, I don't believe anyone on here would have complained.

It's what Alabama shot. Double that and you get 24 for 38, which is just one measly FT more than our 23 for 38 FT percentage.

To be fair at one point we were 13/27 until Mickey and Quarterman started going ham

It would be nice if we could rely on free throws being made consistently.

People who don't play ball always complaining about free throws because that's something they figure they can do that's doesn't require them to have to actually play.

Kentucky was 21/22 last night in free throws. Didn't miss one until the end of the 2nd half.

Free throws are such a mental thing. I can assure you we are practicing plenty.

Whether we are practicing the right way, whatever that is, I can't say, I'm not there.

I will say that I can't recall a program that is consistently excellent in free throws. I've seen it cost Cal at least one title and I've seen Duke lose a couple of times in the tournament with teams good enough to win it all but for poor free throw shooting costing them the game.

I meant no team in the NBA shoots 80% from the line.

Semantics Saintsfan as over 1/2 of the 30 NBA teams are above 75% which may not be 80 out of 100 but sure is 75, way better than 60.

Amen and a few NCAA facts:

LSU is now ranked around 147 out of 351 with an average 69.8% which is in the upper 42% of all NCAA teams.

Only 3 out of 351 teams, or less than 1%, average below 60% which was our percentage last night

302 out of 351 teams, or 86% average over 65%

Conclusion is what I originally said that their free throw percentage last night was pitiful (and should be improved for them to win as we hope they will.
