re: Why can't LSU force ticket holders to use their tickets?

I am a season ticket holder with 10 season tickets. I make pretty much every game and our seats are pretty much always filled with friends or people that work for us, etc. But I can understand how people can't make every game. I live 1.5 hours away and am about to have my 1st child. I understand that once kids start having soccer and football games on Saturday mornings like some of my friend's kids do, it makes it hard. Those people probably love LSU as much as you do but they do have other circumstances in their life that causes them to miss some games.

So you're saying putting attendance stipulations on season ticket holders is unreasonable?
You couldn't let someone else use them?

is this a serious post or are you just trolling?

I kinda like the idea of being able to walk around the stadium before the game and get tickets to a big game for a good price.
Sure, it was fun back in the day when you would sometimes wind up sitting next to two drunk coon-asses from Donaldsonville cheering for Jarvis Green and yelling at the other team: "hey, number 10, you play like crap".
But all in all I ain't complaining about a situation that allows me to go to a couple of games a year. Heck, this year I actually got two tickets to a suite a couple of days before the game. Those guys got some pretty dang good food up there in those suites.

This is not a stupid suggestion. I believe OU and some other SEC schools base some of the "points" you recieve on attendance as well as monitary donations. I would be in favor of this.
If it would not be a total cluster F, I would be in favor of scanning tickets for what time folks leave as well. Our fans used to be on another level, now we feel so fair-weather it scares me....

quote:Not the point. In my opinion, in an unregulated market, ownership allows the owner to do what they want. If I buy tickets to a concert and don't go, so what. If I buy a gift certificate to a restaurant and don't use it before it expires, then so what.

If anyone wants to give away their tickets to the next home game or sell them cheap,

And they have to finsih their pop corn and not litter. And we'll check their garbage cans to make sure they're not throwing any edible food away. And dammit, their tires better be properly inflated so they're not wasting energy. And have they all signed up for osamacare.

I've actually thought about what you posted for quite some time now. The tickets don't "belong" to the season ticket holders. It is a license, and licenses can be revoked.
I wouldn't mind seeing a policy if a ticket holder's tickets go unused for the entire season, or perhaps only one game is used during the season, the license is revoked unless the holder can offer a valid explanation, such as serious but temporary illness or a temporary work assignment out of the country.
Other than that, there is no valid reason for tickets to go unused for every game in a season. Why not let others on the waiting list buy the tickets and help put butts in seats?

And if students don't go to every class, they'll be kicked out of school?

So you had no idea she was pregnant?

Didn't you see that ticket exchange commercial where the Eagles fan sells his tickets because his wife was pregnant?
In seriousness.... LSU should have a use em or lose em policy. They aren't hard to give away. Maybe miss 2 or 3 games and you forfeit your renewal and have to get on the waiting list.

First you would have to hire a army of people to police and inforce your rules.
Then you would have to contact all on why they did not show up.
You really think that would go over well
Oh we are sorry Mr meauxjeaux...to many sick days and we don't believe your grandma died. We are taking away your season tics have a great day

Isn't that what already happens? Can't make grades if you're not in class. So classes get dropped and the student can't stay enrolled. That system takes care of itself.

You really are stupid. Who here has time to read all your bullshite.
I'm not advocating pulling tickets for missing a couple of games. You know this.
People that have shite come up and can't make a game or two could make an effort to get those already purchased tickets to fans though.
This is what has been missing and could easily be rectified with the advent of the ticket scanners.
