I don't really think this is anything more than a matter of opinion. Miles has done nothing but win games at LSU, and even though we have struggled to a 6-2 record so far in 2008, we are playing with Miles recruits and have gone on the road at won at AU (something Sabear has NEVER done) at got a much-needed road win at SC.
Gumps like to claim that Miles is a poor replacement for Saban, but funny, in their only meeting (until tomorrow), Miles outcoached Saban on the field 41-34 and also Miles is 3-0 against Tuscaloser Correctional Institute.

Seriously...anytime he almost compliments an opposing team, he has to immediately follow it up with:
"I like out matchups."
or
"We're pretty good at that too."
or
"I think they'll see that we're pretty good at running the ball too."
or
"They didn't beat us, we made mistakes."
I seriously HATE Miles, despise the way he alway over-annunciates his words, and want to vomit whenever he tries to look 'hard' by sneering and clinching his jaw.
Saban will straight up say:
"We got beat."
"They were better."
"They executed better."

I for one appreciate Miles. He is a fine coach in the toughest league in the country. You can't take away his NC last year. Half his players may have been Saban's but he lead them and that's what's important. I was very proud last year when the LSU fans began chanting SEC, SEC, SEC at the NC game. I hope you noticed we did the same at the Clemson game. Miles' above statements just show he is very competitive. He should probably be a little more politically correct but I respect his toughness.
Having said all that I got to say the streak ends this year! Thanks for the coach. We love him and he ain't leaving now. He's 57 yrs old and he's already tried the NFL. There is no stepping up after Alabama. He's at the top. Why would he leave?

Have you heard of coaching through an interview. Saban does the same thing. Saban talks about how great a player is and blah, blah, blah but you don't see the chewing that guy gets afterwards and during practice.
Do you think media doesn't get inside of a players head? If Les Miles sat in an interview and talked about the program like we do on the rant, who would even want to play. Get real bro.
You can think Les Miles is arrogant all you want but the man builds character not arrogance.
