It is the same group that helped lead us to a 106th ranking at 3.3 yards per rush.

It is the same group that was maligned all season.

It is the same group and same coaching that we all wanted gone.

Turnstiles and missed assignments.....this is what we saw all season.

What is magically going to happen to lead to such a marvelous improvement? Don't give me the line of more time and practice together. They got 10 games to figure things out this past season.

Eta:. We also have all that "quality depth" that will go another season without seeing the field.

We ran two run plays all year. New OC will help tremendously

Because they can’t possibly play worse

Because they are the best we have and don’t have recruits to replace them.

Because we have a QB who gets rid of the ball on time, is accurate and can even buy some time with his feet. That creates less stress on the OL. That would be Max Johnson. That's why.

Atm oline group was one of worst in sec last year... the exact same group a year later, with 4 seniors across the front, is in contention for oline of the year. Maturing, reps, continuity can't be understated for an oline. Last 2 games our unit looked better too.

Cushenberry, Charles are both recent evidence at early struggles as fr and soph, and each turning into really solid to great college players by the end of their careers.

Same reason we should just assume all 7 underclassmen aren't good because they haven't played. Let them develop, get a real off-season under the belt, and continue to get stronger.

Heard this same argument in 2019.

It's because experience matters when it comes to line play.

An offensive line gets much better with continuity of the players. The more the same players work together the better they will get. Trust me. It’s good news

Right, the 2020 oline can’t improve with another year of practice so we don’t want them.

Therefore, let’s give the 2020 backups who weren’t good enough to start a chance because they can get better with another year of development. Ok.

They were one of the only parts of the team that improved over the course of the season.

Because we apparently can't convince high school offensive linemen to come to LSU.

Gotta get Dare back

Shanahan and Hines both improved by the end of the season

Ingram is solid. I don’t think Deculus has much to gain or lose by coming back but a 5th yr senior RT wouldn’t be a bad asset

Its the same group that allowed LSU to score 32 points a game, and with 421 throws, I thought did pretty well in pass protection. LSU never had the same 5 start for more than 3 straight games.

Did you ever consider that maybe LSU's backs, while good, are not as good as what we have had in the past. And perhaps with new QB's (we played 3), that some of the problem with the running game was the QB checked into the wrong plays more often than what Joe did the last 2 years.

I think this OL can be good with working together this year and then having a normal offseason to go through spring, S&C, then Summer workouts, normal fall camp, etc leading into the 2021 season.

Exactly. Some of these posts I have read since New Years suggest some folks still are feeling the residual impact of too much Beer.

They did look better the last 3 games then they did the first few. They will probably not be elite next year but if they keep getting better we could be a top 10 team.
