There are a few people complaining about this because they can't go to the game because it's too important to them to spend time with their families on Thanksgiving. If college football isn't that important to them, which sounds like a good thing, then why are they bitching so much that it is becoming inconvenient for them? This is an extra-curricular activity for college students. While it's awesome that so many with families pay so much money to view these events, these events are designed for the enjoyment and enrichment of college students and not 30-somethings with children. Know your place, let it go, be happy with your families, and stop the bitching.

Yet another great argument to drive your point home. I guess you took the pulse of all the season tickets holders or something.
The people on this message board bitch and moan about everything - the numbers on the jerseys, the schedule timing, the schedule difficulty compared to Bama, the songs we play in the stadium before the game starts, playing games at neutral sites, so taking the opinions of those on this site and turning that into the "majority" of the fan base is pretty laughable.

I have no idea what the SEC will do in the future. I know that the article mentioned that LSU will NOT be playing A&M at home on Thanksgiving Day in 2015. It went on to say that they will play them either Friday or Saturday to end the season. That is the only information I have to go by. I am not going to get riled up and bitch because, in some poster's opinions, the SEC office is going to "screw us" and make us play Thanksgiving night 2 years from now.

you're a pretty reasonable poster so i'm not trying to be adversarial (sp? or how bout just a pain in the arse) all i'm saying is i would like to occasionally travel to tamu for an away game. i'll either have to go by myself and leave my family behind or bring them and then grandmothers and grandfathers etc miss my daughters on thanksgiving. i havent at the very least missed a tailgate since 08 when my 1st was born (on the day of the tulane game). before that, 1999. if they move the home game to thanksgiving i would probably miss it every time. i spend all fri night prepping and shopping for tailgate. i'm out the door at 6 am on saturday and returning late sat night. i am usually recovering on sunday. i have a very understanding wife and a 4 and 2 yr old but would probably be in a bit of trouble if i asked to skip thanksgiving in order to attend an away or home game.

Of course, and I really don't see how having kids will not allow me to go to a football game on Thursday night, but would allow me to attend a Friday afternoon game. If it does, I will be perfectly content watching the game at my house with the aforementioned wife, father and father in law and my son/daughter. Watching the game on TV would also mean my mom would be there - she doesn't typically go to games but would watch on TV. Either way, I'm fine.

i appreciate your situation as long as mine is appreciated. mine is that LSU football is not just the 3-4 hrs when the tigers are on the field. at least for home games that is.

Not many people seem to care much but I'm also a little pissed that am comes along as new guy in the conference and we have to move the Arkansas game from its traditional spot to middle of the season.

I mean that's a 21 year history that we play Arkansas on Friday after Thanksgiving and it has turned into an exciting excellent series to end our season. There have been a lot of twist and turns, and I love the Arkansas game and battle for the boot to finish it out. But that tradition gets thrown to the wayside.

We have already ended our series with am on bad terms before and then they waltz back Into the conference and we are expected to bend over backwards to take their old rivals spot. If the thanksgiving day game was so important to am then they should have worked it out and stayed in the big 12 rather then bolting because their big brother got a tv network.

frick am and all their traditions, I would rather end the season with Arkansas like we have for the past 21 years.

But us trying to protect our own traditions is just constant bitching apparently

If more fans wanted to play thanksgiving and it is so great, why have we only ever done it twice? Both about 30-40 years apart until now.

dude, I'm a product of the LSU football of the 80's and to me A&M-LSU is a longer tradition than any of the concocted Ark-LSU/Friday stuff the SEC invented in the early 90's.

But, maybe that's just me.

I'm not a fan of LSU@A&M being on Thursday night, but at least LSU told them hell no for the A&M@LSU games. I'm hoping those are Saturday, but don't mind Friday.

I love making the A&M road trip because I lived a long time in Houston and have lots of friends there, both LSU and A&M. I doubt I will ever make that trip again now that it's on Thanksgiving night. My Turkey Day family traditions *FAR* outweigh it.

Ratings rule in this case.

Also, did any LSU fan really like playing Arky as the last game of the year?

btw i hate that too.

if you look at all the arky games how many of them had a big game feel? even the really big important ones? 1 or 2? maybe bc the SEC or NC was on the line?

arky games feel like State games. being played always at 1:30 on fri post turkey day has a lot to do with that.

If you believe that at any sec schools your crazy. College football is about making money with free labor, developing players for the nfl, and any touch it had with student enrichment and extra curricular activites has long since vanished. College football is a big business and has nothing to do with giving the students of a university something fun to do on the side anymore.

That game hasn't been played on Friday 21 times, and I don't remember much complaining when we played them on Saturday a few years ago.

yes don't you have a family? News flash, not everyone that is an LSU fan is married to another LSU fan and has inlaws that are just as big of fans of CFB as you. Some many have inlaws not from the south that don't give a flying frick about CFB and sister in laws with young girls that also don't want to watch football.

What difference does it make if an away game is on thanksgiving?

Some of us have plans on Thanksgiving with family and might not want to miss or have to rush off to watch a game.
