You very much have an odd approach to being an LSU fan. Almost like you're waiting for the whole thing to collapse in on itself just because it didn't go your way with the Tulane series.

I really don't see the big deal. Is thanksgiving that huge to some of y'all? I skipped the last 3 or 4 years to study for my finals in law school. I'd skip to go to a game I wanted to see.
I'm way late to this but my family wouldn't give a shite if I skipped Thanksgiving for studies, but a football game is different.

Really, you skipped Thanksgiving with your wife and her family to go to a game?
When i was freshman at LSU I bolted Thanksgiving early to go back to BR to see U2, I couldn't get away with that now.

Playing on Thanksgiving is great exposure.
I still don't see how playing on ESPN on Thursday night vs an NFL game would give us better exposure than on Friday during the day.
Last season we had a 4.2 million viewers on Friday afternoon. Only 3 other games that weekend drew more. Notre Dame - USC, Michigan - Ohio State & Florida - Florida State. It was CBS's 7th highest rated SEC game and outdrew Alabama-Auburn the next day (3.9 mil)
The lone college game on Thursday, Texas - TCU drew 1.9 million. The Patriots-Jets game on NBC that night blew it out of the water drawing 14.7 million.

Why is a bama fan telling LSU fans what to do on the rant?

Tulane? Most traditional game in school history
Tulane was once a traditional rivalry game, but then Tulane decided they didn't give a frick about football and they allowed their program to turn to crap. LSU would still be playing that game if it was a competitive game and not a name the score arse kicking.
So, whatever your point was in using Tulane you failed with it badly.
I don't want LSU to play a game on Thanksgiving Day because my Thanksgiving days are already full.
And if I have to add LSU football to an already full day of activities, I am getting screwed and when I get screwed there is nothing that says I have to bend over and smile about it.
If that bothers you, too fricking bad.
You bitch more about other people bitching than anyone in this thread.
Get over yourself, troll.

One thing we've learned from your actions the last 2 days is that you are a working to be a Hall of Fame troll and all around webospher dickhead, congrats.
BTW this is a fricking LSU MESSAGE BOARD. If LSU fans whine too much GTFO.

OMFG! The fact that LSU fans don't care about the Tulane series ending 2 decades ago shows that not a tradition worth keeping. No one cares. Simply doing something because it was done in the past is just stupid, not keeping up with tradition. The CFB world of today is very different from the 50's-70's when people cared about LSU-Tulane. This point you keep making literally makes no sense at all.

you are 100% to blame for your stupid comments over the past 2 days. Why should i not be pissed off because a game i was looking forward to going to on a annual basis I will now have a harding time watching and will never get to go to? Because we stopped playing Tulane 20+ years ago? Makes a lot of sense.
This is a message board, its a place for people to vent and express their opinion. Saying you think its no big deal is fine, that's your opinion. Don't tell me and others how we should feel and making idiotic comments about the Tulane "rivalary" ending is utterly meaningless.

Boo hoo. You played the troll card early and often, so don't expect me to see you as anything close to reasonable. If you had material, you would have used it. But all I heard was "troll troll troll" because you can't really debate the issue without doing that. Sometimes it's somebody else's birthday. Sometimes you don't get your way.

I played the troll card because that is what you are. Telling people they are crybabies is hardly being reasonable.

I stated it several times. My extended family are not all big FB fans. My Thanksgivings are booked its not like I can get the whole family to switch Thanksgiving to Friday or Saturday.
quote:

you have given no issue to debate, all you have done is say LSU fans are whiners and we stopped playing Tulane so somehow that means we can't object to anything else schedule wise for some unknown reason.

Sometimes it's somebody else's birthday
Lucky for me, my wife's birthday is in June, we got married in July. I typically do not have family fly in from the MW for a birthday. Maybe on occassion a special birthday like a 40th or 50th, that's easier to plan around than a major holiday.

Back to beinga dick I see. I guess I should just shrug it off and say oh well, LSU doesn't play Tulane so no big deal if I never get to watch this game right?

Everything. It was a tradition, and they threw it out. Playing Arkansas Thanksgiving weekend was the next tradition, and no LSU fans seem to be clamoring for it to stay. There is no end-of-season tradition that means anything to LSU and its fans.
That is, until someone else's tradition is recognized. Then all of a sudden LSU is a victim. This is embarrassing.
Tulane? Most traditional game in school history, fans don't care.
Florida? Played 60 of 62 seasons, and fans are loathe to call it a rivalry.
Arkansas? Best SEC west rivalry since expansion, and nobody cares.
But the minute somebody else gets something that's important to them, all of a sudden LSU fans claim they're getting screwed. It's pathetic. Get the hell over it. Nobody shits on LSU's traditions more than LSU
Here's an example of why you are a troll. This is nothing but a giant strawman. The objection to being part of someone else's tradition is that it was a Texas A&M v Texas tradition. Now A&M wants to have LSU sub for Texas because Texas are being a bunch of butt hurt babies and won;t play A&M anymore. You can not force a rivalry. Rivalries have to be built organically. Simply having the league office schedule the game the last week and giving out a silly ginormous trpohy does not make soemthing a rivalry.
Also just because people aren't "clamoring" for Arkansas to stay that weekened is beside the point. Most would probably be fine with keeping it there. I know I would rather keep it there, in part because I DONT want a game I'm all geeked up for that weekend. I'd rather it be a game I'm fine if I miss. It could be Arkansas, Miss State, Vandy or UK in years we play them. I don't care.
Frankly I'm glad LSU doesn't have that 1 huge game like Bama-auburn, I like it floating. Right now our biggest game is Bama. It he late 90's we had some intense games with Auburn. Florida is often a big one. Varity is good. That's also why I don't like the perma opponents. I'd rather play Tennesse and UGA more often. We never got to play against Peyton Manning to me that's a bigger loss than playing Florida 2 years than not playing Florida for 2 years.
