You need to switch lures occasionally.

Orgeron is exactly where he wants to be, is exactly the man for the job, and is building a dynasty that he won’t leave for the NFL or any other job

This is exactly right.

My wife and I are sitting here talking about aranda leaving and both of us came to the conclusion that someone with the mindset and LSU heart like Marcus Spears or booger McFarland would go a loooing long way.

I'm not saying they'd be great coaches as I really have no idea, but their hearts would bleed LSU for life.

Good job from Ed on keeping it mostly intact Nov to Feb 2017.

It will actually be an important year for us. 10-2 or better sends a message and sets us up well for 2021.

I agree 100% we can and should be able to turn in a 1 loss season but I 100% will not throw in the towel and be mad with 3 losses if they are close

frick Les Miles

I will be honest, I was a Les Miles defender. I thought that we had to be careful because Miles was still bringing in the talent and his only road block was Alabama (which I think there were a few years in which they let Alabama beat them more than once in a season. Meaning that we would go into the game undefeated, everything was centered around beating Alabama and when we didn't, it was as if the rest of the season didn't matter).

But think about this, and I heard TBob Hebert bring this point up. There are 6 current coaches who have one at least one national championship.. 3 of the 6 won a NC at LSU.

If Les Miles wasn't so god damn hard headed and would have been willing to implement a more current offense, how many more titles would we have? I'd say he could have at least had one more. AT LEAST.

And I will be honest, I doubted Coach O at first. At the time I just felt like he was hired because LSU couldn't get who they really wanted to hire and because of his record at Ole Miss.. I knew he could recruit, but I was just concerned about how he would approach things. And he has proved that he has learned from his mistakes.

He is also passionate about being LSU's HC. If he would have been offered the USC job, I think he would have been happen to have it, but he wouldn't have had the same passion as he has being LSU's coach and because of his passion he will do whatever he can to put his team in the nest position possible,

So until he gives anyone a reason to doubt him.. There is no reason to doubt him,

How much coaching you think a head coach actually does daily at practice?

Nice not-so-subtle dig.

First off, he was the recruiting coordinator in 2016 before he became interim HC.

Second, a lot of those players started taking calls from other schools when Miles got fired so yes, it was a “good job by Ed” keeping the class in tact. Stevens took an OV to Bama and had an in-home with Saban. Delpit took an OV to Notre Dame and an unofficial to Miami. Vincent took an OV to Texas. CEH took an OV to MSU.

Third, some of the most important guys from that class were 100% Orgeron recruits:
- Phillips was a flip from OU and committed 1/26/17.
- Chaisson committed 2/1/17.
- Todd Harris, who I didn’t list as a starter because of his injury, committed 2/1/17.
- Justin Jefferson didn’t even have a commitable offer until the day before he enrolled, 9/8/17.

And lastly, you’re missing the fricking point. I called out the 2017 guys specifically because that class includes all of our draft-eligible juniors (except Moss and Cush). Our 2019 and 2020 classes are both full of studs as well and the next group will step up.

Because as Saban pointed out when he was here, some LSU fans have the "catastrophe syndrome". The sky is falling..no matter how much success we have there will always be doubters. We could win 100 games in a row and some fans would say "I bet we lose the next one". A lot of it has to do with your outlook on life. Are you an optimist or a pessimist? Glass half full or half empty? Wake up happy or grumpy ? Attitude is significant in how people view life

He’s earned the right to not be doubted. I won’t make that mistake again after this year, but if others are, let them.

I want to see the same decision making and resolve we saw this year continue. Let him embarrass them again while we enjoy another epic season. Right now, there’s no reason for doubt or negativity.

For some reason people these days feel like they need to rely on melodrama and being a victim in order to overcome adversity through challenge. You can't just concentrate real hard and try. You have to make up some reason why life is incredibly hard on you in order to succeed
