Yeah, his in game coaching was subpar that game. Almost like he wasn't even there.

Pretend basketball fans like to make things up even if they’re antithetical to reality.

This is a bit of an odd bump.

Aside from that, I guess I'm just one of those people who can accept major college sports (football and basketball) for what they actually are, vs the idealistic fantasy of what they may have once been or "should be".

Major college basketball is a multi million dollar entertainment BUSINESS. End of story. The NCAA is being paid nearly a BILLION dollars a year for the broadcast rights to the NCAA Tournament alone. This being just a character building scholastic extracurricular left the station a LONG time ago.

High school basketball is a "character building" scholastic extracurricular (though even that is not 100% true with the proliferation of AAU basketball and "basketball prep schools"). College basketball is simply a results oriented multi-million dollar business. The consumers don't actually give a damn about making sure the players are learning character building lessons. The only care if they win or lose. To pretend otherwise is a living in a place where reality doesn't exist.

Kelvin Sampson is not getting paid nearly $5M per year because he's doing a good job of "winning with integrity". The guy got TWO schools put on probation in his career. He's getting paid because he wins as shite load of games and generates millions in revenue because of it. Same for Bruce Pearl. Hell, even Todd Golden who is out trying to hook up with Florida soroity girls and (allegedly) sending pics of his goober to them You can watch all three in the Final Four tomorrow...and I promise you no Houston, Florida, or Auburn basketball fan cares, at all, if any of them are "winning with integrity". They just care that they win. How they do it is immaterial

I wish there was a bank teller on the sideline and every time a player makes a 3 pointer, gets a rebound, steals the ball, the teller sets aside a certain amount of cash. Then during the TV timeouts, the player goes to the teller and receives his stack. Full transparency. Unlike the last 80 years of prepay where they leave a car trunk open with a briefcase and walk away or a bag of cash unattended for 5 seconds in a McDonald's booth.
