I love how all of the talking heads are completely ignoring the fact that we had a very inexperienced QB.

It was anti inspirational. Basically said LSU was too talented to have as crappy an offense as it did last year and that Crowton should have been fired. Said LSU plays below its talent. Not something that is going to inspire.

I was jabbing at the thread yesterday in which someone mailed a UNC fan's response to a Dandy Don column to the football office.

I cannot disagree with any of that. And Mark May was all about LSU back in '07 so he is not anti-LSU.

He pretty much called out Crowton for sure. I don't want Mark May pulling for LSU. Nine times out of ten, any team Mark likes they end up losing and falling flat on their face. That guy is a jinx.

Yep. May isn't anti LSU, for sure. Miles and Crowton can redeem themselves this year. Will be interesting to see if they can do it. It is definitely the most important year of this staffs time at LSU.

he basically echoed what a lot of other people are saying. It isn't just bias.

again, I'm talking about the past and may has always picked against LSU. If you guys don't remember, then it dates y'all. He was adamant that lsu was not as good as georgia, then lsu destroys georgia in the dome and goes on to win the NC. He caught a lot of heat over that. Since then, every single close game he goes against lsu. So be it. Those guys have no accountability, they can pick whomever they want. If they are wrong, they just never revisit the topic. As for this year, he read a message board or two.....so be it...i don't really care what may has to say as like i said, to me, his opinion is totally meaningless as he has been wrong SO OFTEN.

Crowton's offense has to shine now that he has a kid who's got to be a pro at it at this point.

This...I don't know how he keeps his job, he is wrong so often. Of course, most of them are. I think the point is to keep it controversial vs being right.

If you guys remember. Mark May said Georgia was a better football team in 2003 and said they would get revenge on lsu in sec champ game. We know how that worked out. He then said lsu couldn't beat oklahoma, we know how that worked out. Mark May has basically picked against lsu in every big game over the years. For whatever reason, he has never liked lsu. So be it. He is wrong most of the time, so his opinion, like herbstreits, is meaningless.

That was Trev Alberts, and the thing is...Trev Alberts admitted he was wrong. How many ESPN sportscasters now admit when they are wrong?

This is my observation also. I really think Mark May likes LSU.

I often wonder if ESPN tells them who to pick so they can debate each other. Still the same, Mark May is jinxed and the guy just picked UNC to win the ACC.

Again, you are wrong. As others have said, you are confusing him with Trev Alberts. May has backed LSU as much as anyone on ESPN.

I admire your persistence, but cringe at your inaccuracy.

WRONG. Mark May specifically said after lsu beat georgia in BR that Georgia had the better team and would get revenge in atlanta.

That pretty much sums up the problem with this coaching staff in five words.

I think this as well. He's usually the lsu pick to the Trev Alberts/Lou Holtz anti lsu pick.

From what this thread says he read, I also don't think he's that off base. We have under performed based on our talent. No doubt there have been some crazy circumstances, and our coaches and players are only human, but there it is. Crowton has a golden opportunity to redeem himself this year, and I for one certainly hopes he does.
