Nice. You do realize the knock on him is his lack of
big time speed, huh?

Reid - smart, fast, and physical

Loston/T-Raw - athletic playmakers, who are extremely physical

Claiborne - long arms and very athletic

Simon - Long and lean build, Arms like a Mr. Gadget

Taylor - looked good against Oregon, solid career for LSU, but has some bad open field tackling habits that scares the piss out of me.

Claiborne is projected to be one of the first if not the first DB taken in next year's draft, so I'll go with him, followed by Reid.

As much as I think Mathieu is a great college player the NFL is a different game. Cover cornerbacks are at a premium. Safeties are always less valued than comparable cornerbacks. Claiborne is the best cover cornerback. I thinks Simon's size is a liability in the NFL. He may even end up moving to safety in the NFL depending on how he tests out at the combine.

help me out here. You have 2 lockdown corners on a island. One is 5'11 and one is 6'3.

How is the tall one a liability?

Just curious. I think sometimes though that he might make a hell of a reciever.

You rarely see a 6'3" corner with the change of direction to be a corner in the NFL.

I think the point is due to his height, we're not sure he can be a shut down corner in the NFL. I'm certainly not saying he can't, I just personally have not seen the body of work to be convinced of it. But he's no doubt going to be a great college corner.

I'm sure he would have been great. Kinda wish we had a lean body like him over there. We seem to have a lot of 6 footers at WR.

My favorite is TM7 but his size may work against him in the draft and typecast him as a nickle in the NFL.

But he excels at the nickel

Simon--6'3" with good ball skills. Scouts will drool.
Reid--Enforcer, physical but under control.
Claiborne--speed, speed, speed. Not sold on him as a shutdown (yet)
Mathieu--a "football player". Size will make him be drafted later than he should be.
Taylor--underrated, solid player. Middle rounder.
Loston--disappointment thus far. Plays out of control.

This looks right to me.

If Simon has a good combine, plays to his potential here and shows he has smooth hips, he will be the highest drafted DB in this secondary. Because I'm willing to bet right now, he has at least a 40 inch vertical to go with his huge wingspan.

Since we haven't seen enough of him yet, Claiborne. TM7 won't be a first round pick unless he grows a bit. I think them saying he is 5'9 is being generous in cleats.

I think Reid will have best NFL looks by his senior year. Then Simon. Mo, TM, Taylor, Loston
